The Official Zone Severe Weather Thread

Hey fawk you buddy. I'm trying to keep you informed on this storm and you're making jokes? You didn't even advise me to make sure my bedroom and kitchen were properly ventilated while running my generators.
Dang, I thought you meant that the generators were outside, but your reserve fuel was inside. Ok…

Nobody was taking my bait so I figured everyone either knew i was baiting them, since I am a master baiter, or I was serious and they were gone let me die.
I have Elon's condition with taking things literally. But let the record show I nominally cared.

Is there a term used for people that don't pronounce the T in certain words?

Like Milton. Weather girl says Mil-in.

If she said boating she'd say Boa-in.

For generations past in certain regional dialects, a glottal stop substituted for the “T” in pronunciation of some words.

Presently, I do not hear the glottal stop, just the absence of the “T” sound, e.g. “impor’ent” for important.

🤔

More than you ever wanted to know!!

A “glottal stop” is what you hear when a Scot says “glottal.” There’s no t-sound; the air just stops in the back of the throat between syllables, so “glah-uhl” instead of “glot-uhl” or “glot-tuhl.” (We have to know this for singing.)

Praying for you, buddy.
You can piss off! Leaving us all of us worried, not checking in. WTF?

You’re still our buddy and hope you’re okay. I don’t know and don’t know your business (don’t want to unless you want us to know). Believe it or not, I respect boundaries unlike some here 😒.

It’s great to see you, did you see your shadow or something? Or are we in for 6 weeks more of winter?
