The Ole Miss Rebel Black Bears Postgame Report

1. Jordan McRae played his best game as a Vol. He was the difference. His energy got Tennessee out of its slump and changed the game. Fantastic.

2. Jeronne Maymon continues to just bring the lunch pale. Another solid performance. He won't, but he deserves 1st team All-SEC.

3. We need to get McBee back on track. Ole Miss dropped the zone, and we struggled to drive because they packed it in. McBee can open up the zone and make teams respect our shooting when he's on.

4. Better job in the second half against the zone. I think also we need to push the ball more against teams that zone us. It will get us more easy buckets.

5. Only 11 turnovers. Getting better.

6. Again, dominated the boards and changed the game with a +12 rebounding margin.

7. Good win, on to Saturday, where we need another another road win.

8. We do NOT win this game with out the production from Miller tonight. Great job by him.

This was a big factor because 10 of those came in the first half. Only one turnover in the second half.

1. Dwight Miller is an enigma rivaled by the likes of the Bermuda Triangle, JFK's death, and Area 51. The guy has been solid when given time to shine. He has to be the most efficient offense player on this team, and I would venture to guess his points per minute average is double the next closest player. Have to wonder what he could do with 15 minutes every game.

2. McRae finally got his 30 minutes, and shined. Over the last several games, he finally has gained the confidence to drive to the basket. It is such an important tool that we have been missing all season. He can change his life over the next two years if he can harness that confidence and combine it with his talent.

3. Outrebounding Ole Siss by 12 speaks to the effort tonight over the last 33 minutes. The defense over that time was good as well. The first 7 minutes were abysmal on all fronts.

Cannot start a game like they did this one and win against the better teams. They need to be able to solve the issues quicker. Miller provided a nice spark. McRae is a star in the making.

Exactly. Vanderbilt would have slammed the door on us like they did in Nashville. We have to start better.

DISCLAIMER: NOT A STACHE' BASH...

it seems CCM has decided that with mcrae bringing his offense now, if mcbee isnt hitting he wont see major minutes like he was. skylar and josh almost played the same amount of minutes and tatum is still going to get his 25 or so, so im guessing if skylars hitting he'll play more in that game, but if he's not like tonight josh will see more time.

IMO i like the call. skylar is streaky, if he's hitting ride the wave, if not get in the better defender and utilize mcraes offense.

This is why Kesling is sooooo bad. One of the better dunks of the season and Ol' Bob made it sound like pre-game warm ups.
Sounded pretty excited to me.

What did you want him to do, scream like Dick Vitale?

Do I need to bring out Ward's call of the Arkansas fumble in 98? Talk about boring. I'm not comparing the two as announcers, but come on, give the guy a break. He gets excited at the right times, most of the time.

Are you honestly defending Kesling's ability to call a basketball game? To each his own I guess, but I for one think Kesling is terrible.

But I will agree with you about Vitale. He can ruin a perfectly good basketball game with his over the top antics.

It would be easy to cherry pick moments out of an icon's 50 year career and find some calls that could be better. However, Kesling is horrible just about all the time.

He's better than most people give him credit for. You going to degrade whoever follows Summit in that position? He may not be as good as his predecessor, but holy crap, he's not that bad.

Bob, is that you?

And way to act cool and assume that it is the person being talked about posting on these boards. Good god, either be able to handle a debate, or don't start one. I've noticed it is the ones who get slammed in debates that start pulling that crap because they can't come up with a worthy argument.
