The Ole Miss Rebel Black Bears Postgame Report

He's better than most people give him credit for. You going to degrade whoever follows Summit in that position? He may not be as good as his predecessor, but holy crap, he's not that bad.

Bob really is that bad. Following Ward is such a worn out and rediculously pathetic excuse. Bob is a reporter, he's good at that, he should have stayed a reporter.

And way to act cool and assume that it is the person being talked about posting on these boards. Good god, either be able to handle a debate, or don't start one. I've noticed it is the ones who get slammed in debates that start pulling that crap because they can't come up with a worthy argument.

Debate? I didn't realize that me saying Kesling was bad and you coming in an breaking out your Bob Kesling Fan Club card was a debate. If you feel the need to have a debate about it then take it up at your next BKFC meeting.

You really must be related to him because he is that bad. He is even worse doing football games.

In reference to Bob and Bert, at least every game Bert will say "He is probably one of their better free throw shooters" and Bob will look up the stat and read uhh 50 percent from behind the line this season blah blah

I mean seriously every single game something like that happens

That's Bert's fault, not Bob's. He's the color man, so he's the one who should have the facts straight.

I just remember the pregame show during the Memphis game in 2010, Kesling was like "And now we are going to do our spotlight interview with new Tennessee quarterback Matt Bray... Who is making his first start today."

:hmm:

This is just one of numerous times he has gotten names wrong. It's just lazy. I want somebody to announce the games that loves the Vols as much as I do. That actually follows them in their free time because they want to. Not have to go down the Vols roster before games and memorize names and numbers. I want somebody thats a homer. Not necessarily just a professional. I mean damn, I'll do it.

They both should. And Bob doesn't have to read his percentage immediately after, just making Bert look dumb. He could be a little smoother than that. Good announcers make people with them on the air sound good too.

I may get bashed for this, but the team really needs to work on their pre-game theatrics. When I was watching them come through and high five each other as their names were called, nobody jumped up or even looked like they wanted to be there. They were done and in the huddle before Tatum was even announced. I turned to who I was there with and said "we're going to lose this game. They have no energy."

I really feel like they need to get excited pre-game, and I think it was at least partially to blame for their slow start. Thankfully, I was wrong about them losing.

I noticed this. It's the first game ive seen this year that they don't all line up and do the low fiving and chest bumps.

I thought it was actually neat. It was almost like a very business and serious approach they were all very close together and not doing too much extra curricular stuff.

I'm not trying to be a prick, but do you follow what's going on with your job 24/7? If you're a broker or something, would you spend your free time staring at the stock trends? No matter how much I love my job, I'm not going to spend every minute away from work doing stuff for work if I can help it. Shouldn't expect Bob to do the same. I'm not saying that it's good to get names wrong, cause it isn't, but to demand he spend every bit of his time doing it is not fair to him, since we wouldn't do the same.

No no no no. I'm not demanding that Bob Kesling spend his free time doing anything he doesn't want. I'm saying that I would like to see Tennessee hire somebody who loves the Vols so much that they do obsess and follow them in their free time. There are plenty of people who could do what he does better than him. There are plenty of announcers around this country in all sports that LOVE the teams they cover and are great at following their teams. Don't act like he is a one of a kind talent or anything because he's not. I actually work in broadcasting and I can guarantee you this. If I did that job, I would't be getting our players names wrong. It's because I am a fan. A fan who could also broadcast well. It's a rare mix that should be required to have the job that Kesling has.

And I obviously wouldn't expect anyone to spend "every bit" of their free time studying for work. Don't change my words. I'm just saying that the job would come easier to him if he truly loved the Vols the way some people do.

It's been fun watching McRae develop this season. He's quickly becoming the spark that gets this team going during games.

1. Jordan McRae played his best game as a Vol. He was the difference. His energy got Tennessee out of its slump and changed the game. Fantastic.

2. Jeronne Maymon continues to just bring the lunch pale. Another solid performance. He won't, but he deserves 1st team All-SEC.

3. We need to get McBee back on track. Ole Miss dropped the zone, and we struggled to drive because they packed it in. McBee can open up the zone and make teams respect our shooting when he's on.

4. Better job in the second half against the zone. I think also we need to push the ball more against teams that zone us. It will get us more easy buckets.

5. Only 11 turnovers. Getting better.

6. Again, dominated the boards and changed the game with a +12 rebounding margin.

7. Good win, on to Saturday, where we need another another road win.

8. We do NOT win this game with out the production from Miller tonight. Great job by him.

Sounds like we got it together after a slow start. I was checking the score on my phone and Miller played well after not playing hardly any since Dec. I wonder if or when Hall will ever come back.

I wasn't able to watch it, but I DVR'd it. Thanks for the postgame report. Much easier than sifting through pages of the in game thread.

If Mcrae takes the ball to the hole and finishes, he can be as good as he wants to. The sky is the limit for that kid.

I'm disappointed they didn't parachute from the rafters.

I went to their web site to see what changes they have made. I did not notice anything different, their baseball uniforms just said Rebels. I remember they used to have the "Rebel" with his cain, but I did not see anything with the Black Bear. Didn't they have to change that this year or is it next year?

Nm, I did see they call themselves that, they just do not have it on the cover of site or anywhere on any of their uniforms. I guess they try to hide it has much as possible.

No problem.

Outside of ten minutes, Tennessee played pretty well against an okay opponent.

They dominated inside, and McRae took control of the game.
