Trains weren't his departmentSpeaking of Pete where is @zeppelin128
I think he did himself a disservice this last election. He bowed down to the establishment and took a job that he was clearly unqualified for as the diversity hire. The initial supply line disruptions with the ports, the train derailment in Ohio, when he's been in the news it hasn't been positive.
I'm tardy to the party. I just learned a bit ago Vivek is a candidate. I agree with some others. He is really intriguing.
I looked at his website and resonate with most of what is displayed. Checked his wiki page and even though there's some action not matching the rhetoric, I don't think it is too concerning.
To LG's notion about evangelicals not voting because he is Hindu, I think that it would happen but not to any discernible degree. Keep in mind evangelicals voted in droves for a bloated, bloviating pitch-man who personal life was contradictory to evangelical's ideals.
I like Vivek.
I challenged so many people of the faith regarding this. Never got a good answer. Just the same ol’ “it beats the other possibility” which then became reality.
And yes, I’m a follower of Christ. Vivek’s platform is very intriguing. There is always some dirt on every one. The problem is among all of the flung poo what is correct and what is a white lie.
If you're going to make a video like this, is it too much to ask to ACTUALLY be pumping gas? He never even selects the damn grade to make it stop beeping. Just looks completely disingenuous and out of touch.

The operative principle expressed was, "You don't hire a choirboy to beat back the barbarians."
I always found it ironically amusing that the people chiding the religious folks for supporting Trump were usually the same people who are always insisting that government and religion should be kept separate.
From a purely pragmatic standpoint, it can certainly be argued that Trump delivered on his promises to evangelicals in ways that can impact legal judgments for decades, so there is that.
Copy paste from Vivek's site with thoughts:
Revive American National Identity
- Use the military, including drones, to secure our southern border
- End affirmative action: repeal Lyndon Johnson’s executive order 11246
- Protect American children: ban addictive social media under age 16 & gender confusion “care” for minors
- Make political expression a civil right & end unlawful DEI indoctrination
- Withhold federal funding for cities that refuse to protect Americans from violent crime
Using the military seems inefficient and overkill. An agency already exists to patrol the border. Why not increase their funding, allow military members to move to that agency (with retention of their benefits), and increase the number of agents. It is also irrelevant without a new approach to immigration from the government.
Fine with ending aa. I have no idea what Johnson's EO is without looking it up.
It isn't Vivek's or the government's job to protect children. That is the parent's responsibility. How would social media be banned, anyway? What is "addictive" social media? Would games where a social component is present be classified as social media? The gender care reference seems like an add on to capitalize on the current emotion of the issue.
Is political expression currently not a civil right? DEI should be voluntary in the private sector and optional for public sector employees.
What city isn't protecting people from violent crime??? I don't know of any police force which actually protects people as opposed to responding to situations when called. Are police refusing to show up for calls?
Summary: This section is weak on specifics, has an abundance or rhetoric, but contains just enough to be intriguing. I don't like government-as-answer approaches especially from someone who should be on the small government spectrum.
I agree that Trump did deliver on some of the promises/statements he made. And I agreed with the turnout. However, I also believe he played many evangelicals like a drum. Anywhere from one’s who drank all of the koolaide to those saying “he is the only one with a chance of winning.”
Maybe he viewing social media, like alcohol etc...I'm on the fence because we are finding out that social media is a major component in causing mental illness... Wish he attack the extra crap they put in our foodI don't like the idea of using the military outside of a logistics or surveillance capacity on the border. Hopefully that is what he is talking about.
Yes, end affirmative action, everyone should be judged on their own merits.
It's not the governments job to protect children from social media. He better clear this one up. I don't like the .gov getting between a Dr and patient but some of this has gone too far with the gender identity and minors. I'm not exactly sure what to do but I'm pretty certain getting the federal government involved isn't the answer, leave it to the states.
I thought the 1A covered political expression, this sounds like pandering to me.
How would this be defined?
