The Outsider (HBO)

This show isn't receiving a ton of hype for some reason but I think it's been great. First couple episodes and the last episode especially. Some of King's work doesn't translate especially well to film/TV but this one has done it very well.

Just finished episode 6 last night and the show is really starting to hit its stride. The pacing is excellent. Great directing and writing.

I think last night's episode ended in a pretty good place (Ep 8, "Foxhead").

I'm still reserving judgment on this. Hopefully, it won't wind up being blurred, overlapping timelines like that other ridiculousness was.

Paddy C. is a better actor than I thought. Mr. Whicher makes a great hillbilly. HA

the timelines gig, you talking about true detective? Cause this isn’t in that series

No way. I was referencing the path Castle Rock took.
I think TD is one of the best shows ever. I rewatch S1 pretty frequently. I think the TD timelines (2 in S1 and 3 in S3) were clear enough.

Ah, haven’t watched CR yet. Hopefully that’s not a huge spoiler that it is a timeline reveal

Slow set up to the finale. Wasn’t my favorite episode by still entertaining.

I like how the last episode faded to black, but you could still hear what was going on. I counted 6 go off.
Yup, the end was worth the wait. I’m going to read the book after (try to) before Sunday

Well, are we satisfied with the season finale?

I haven't read the book, but I like how they wrapped this up.

Yup, solid series haven’t finished the book. Did everyone catch the mid credit scene at the end?

Ending was pretty much meh. The monster turned out to be pretty easy to kill.

My question is was there a scratch on the black girls arm at the very end? If so what does that mean if the monster is dead?

I thought the finale was fine if not a little anticlimactic in how Clyde just walked up to the creature and blasted it and that was pretty much it. Also I was sure they were going to leave off on a cliffhanger that suggested that the Clyde they rescued was the creature all along even though it wouldn't have made any sense based on what already happened in the cave.

Great series. The end was a little "meh" for me only because the final 15 minutes was just them explaining away the circumstances in a fabricated story they put together in a truckride.

Was hoping to get a little more explanation on the creature than we got. Maybe there will be another season?

I'm kind of ok with no explanation, but it's kind of a Stephen King thing. I've found in movies when they try to explain stuff like this, it just ends up sounding really dumb.

Great series. No issues with the ending. I had begun to think that maybe the dude was part of the original group of folks who got trapped in the cave and through cannibalism become what he did..that would explain the bear cave stuff...but pretty good for a Stephen King story put to TV. Just saw In The Tall Grass..another King flick on Netflix, wasnt bad.
