Him being the only one to see those two boys in the cave kinda threw me a little. I know they weren’t real, but what was the purpose?

I'm kind of ok with no explanation, but it's kind of a Stephen King thing. I've found in movies when they try to explain stuff like this, it just ends up sounding really dumb.
I figured a book explanation is more thorough. It doesn't bother me much. I'd happily look forward to another season if they're willing.

just finished. IMO, prob one of the best adaptions of a King story. I guess when you work without the time constraints movies have, you can fully explore all the characters and not leave that much out.

as to the boys, this was, if you will, a call back to his book Desperation where the demon was in a cave that collapsed in arizona which trapped a group of Chinese miners. Also there are similar references in Desperation where the demon feeds off of humans and its appetite grows exponentially to the point the human body breaks down and it must move to a new host. El Cuco had similar characteristics

I’m reading King’s book that came out today. It’s a collection of of 4 novellas. The 3rd story is titled “If it Bleeds” and is also the title of the collection. I don’t want to give anything away in case anybody was gonna read it but Holly is the main character and it could totally be used for a 2nd season of the HBO series.
