1. Another solid performance by the Vols. That's about as efficient as this team has performed in the halfcourt offensively.
2. Wayne Chism has picked the perfect time to showcase his talents. Lots of guys have parlayed a couple of good weeks in March into a playing for pay.
3. I still have serious reservations about Maze and Tabb's combined ability to handle the ball against quality pressure. It would be to Tennessee's benefit if their NCAA draw doesn't include someone like Missouri.
4. Tomorrow affords the program an opportunity to take another important step. With a partisan crowd and an inferior opponent, UT needs to collect its first postseason hardware since Jimmy Carter was in the White House.
5. While I'm still not much of a fan, Jeff Lebo deserves immense credit for his team's performance down the stretch. He took a veteran team that appeared ready to spit the bit in January and turned them into one of the three best teams in the SEC.
6. All Hail Binghamton. I wonder what page the cretons at the New York Times will run the news of their making the NCAA field on tomorrow,.
7. Memphis is as good as anyone in the country defensively. However, their inability to score makes anything beyond a Sweet Sixteen appearance a dicey proposition.
8. Illinois looks absolutely done. The loss of Chester Frazier hurts, but they shouldn't be this bad.
9. Duke is too weak on the boards and defensively to be a contender. As soon as they face a physical, aggressive team with some talent, they'll be headed home.
10. Louisville should be able to wrap up a #1 seed with a win tonight. It strains credulity to think a team could win the Big East regular season and tournament titles and fail to be placed on the top line of the bracket.

Gotta give Pearl credit. He likes to do things around here that haven't been done for a while.

congrats to coach pearl. The guy never ceases to amaze.

i love how #3 was scoffed at and likened to 'cici's pizza' a couple months ago, when everything statistically showed them trending otherwise, and now we give lebo credit for basically following up on what his team was already showing during that same time. Their recent performance was not difficult to foresee.

Shame they coughed it up to mercer, otherwise they might be heading to the tourney as of now.

Good solid win for the Vols. If they had cut down on the TO's, it would not have even been as close as it was.

I was expecting a scathing commentary on Prince's play, especially in the firs four or five minutes. I guess the W got him off the hook.

So in 4 years cbp could give us first no 1 ranking.. Win s e c regular season and first s e c tourney win in 30 years plus with one win in ncaa tourney have 100 wins.
Yep.... For sure he is sooooo dam overrated

Auburn is incredibly effective at forcing turnovers, so I expected a lot today, but the total number was just ridiculous.

I'm tired of devoting copious amounts of discussion to a role player. Absent something far more noteworthy than anything he's done so far in his two seasons here, I'm not mentioning JP Prince at all anymore.

Hat, since these performances are against less than solid teams, do they do anything to convince you that UT can make some noise in the NCAA's if they get a good draw?

Yeah, the SEC is a real powerhouse this year. They should build shrines to him for winning a tournament against this epic field.

The first time in the finals since '92. What a wild ride by a horrible team that was. I tip my 40 to Gannon Goodson.

If they avoid teams that really pressure the ball well, they could win two games. Anything beyond that would absolutely shock me.

hooo-boy, vols must be great if a role player is 1st in fg%, 2nd in offensive rating, 1st in steals, 4th in minutes, 3rd in blocks, 2nd in assists, etc.

I'm suddenly excited about this team's prospects, barring an 8/9 seeding, which I think we've escaped at this point.

6 is about as high as we can expect, but 7 seems more likely.

Now comes the sweat it out portion of the night for bubble teams. Missouri and Arizona State have a lot more fans than usual tonight.

Thanks. I tend to agree, but in tourney time you never know. I still don't trust this team even though the effort has been there. Winning three in a row in any postseason tournament would be a first for Pearl at UT so it would definitely make me feel a bit better if they win tomorrow.

Also, does this loss knock Auburn out? I think the most likely scenario may be that the SEC is represented by UT and LSU only.

Unless they really emphasize last 10 games and totally ignore nonconference schedule and performance, Auburn has no shot.

I'm not seeing auburn in the tourney, even though I think they deserve it. Though i'd like to see them there and think they could possibly give someone an early scare.
