1. I'm not sure the last time I saw a team score fewer points out if its initial offense. Without second chance points, Tennessee would have been in Big Ten territory pointswise.
2. Many people spent the last two days postulating that Tennessee would have won the game in Knoxville, but for Meeks having a game for the ages. I think today's results lays that fallacious theory to rest.
3. Bruce Pearl is now 1-3, with the none win being a 2 point win with Patrick Patterson sidelined and Jodie Meeks playing with a hernia, against Billy Gillispie. There's a lesson to e learned there.
4. At least Scotty Hopson had a decent game. That spared him even more ridicule from the crowd.
5. Darius Miller has played well against Tennessee both times this year. I don't think that's a coincidence.
6. Wayne Chism and Tyler Smith could not have played more poorly in the first half if they attempted to be atrocioius. When those guys are bad, this team has zero shot.
7. Here's a question for all those who heralded Bobby Maze to be such an upgrade over Ramar Smith. How mant times did Ramar get torched by a guy of Michael Porter's caliber?
8. Kentucky-South Carolina will be intriguing Saturday night. The winner should claim the East title.
9. Well, it looks like Davidson will have to win the SoCon tournament to go dancing. The nation may have to get it's fill of cutaway shots to Curry's mom during ESPN's NIT coverage.
10. Needing a win to keep it's NCAA hopes alive, Providence gives up 103 points at home. That Keno Davis is a genius.

Is that a commentary on UT's defense or lack thereof, or something else?

You can't run the offense we try to run without JaJuan and Chris to bail you out with a 30 foot 3 when the shot clock is running down. This team has no real offense, plays bad team defense, and can't shoot free-throws. . .I think we beat Bama at home and that's our last win of the year.

Agree with all but 2 and 7. Ramar was never an
offensive threat and atleast maze can be. Ramar avg as many turnovers as he did assists whereas bobby was in leading s e c in that cat going to ole miss.

I think he's used this staff's spending the whole offseason saying to other coaches "Losing Miller didn't matter, we got the guy from Kentucky we really wanted" as solid motivation. Hey, at least out staff can motivate somebody. Too bad he plays for someone else.

I figured it had something to do with recruiting. Thanks.

To not show up at all against your biggest rival, twice this year, is pathetic. Brings back memories of losing by 62 to KY under Houston.

In what universe is Bobby Maze an offensive threat? Of course he never turns the ball over. If all a guy does is stand 35 feet from the basket passing it back and forth with a wing, he should have low turnover numbers.

Ramar averaged just short of 11 ppg as a freshman. How many is Maze scoring?

Is it just me or is it happening? The one thing this team does not do is ball movement or then they do it too much. Regardless, as soon as anybody gets the ball on offense they put it on the floor instead of passing it------Its either Dribble shoot, Dribble Pass, Dribble drive, pass or shoot. Every player does it. I would like to see passing and no dribbles.

The behind the back dribble by Chism was the most moronic thing I have ever seen him do.

Wtf happened to Ramar after his freshman year? He didn't even look the same as a sophomore.

Do you think Brian Williams is one of the more improved players under the Pearl regime?

still not much of a difference between the two.. the only real thing I miss from Ramar was his toughness.. nothing else from ramar smith do i miss from last season, even with the continued post-ramar poor point guar play

Yeah, very little difference between a guy who scores 11 a game and can guard his position and one who scores 9 and can't protect the ground he stands on.

from what I remember, Ramar wasnt exactly what you may call a 'lockdown defender'.. Yea Maze is pretty bad on the defensive end but comparing last year Ramar and this year Bobby maze there isnt much of a difference

Hat, just wondering, but why do you seem to have such a man crush on Ramar?
You mean the man crush that is so strong I called him "malignant" on this site and fully supported Bruce's decision to jettison him, in fact saying that it probably took him too long?
