Ramar Smith's defense is better than Bobby Maze's.. however, when it comes to point guard play they both come to a solid draw
NO way. Ramar's play won us the Butler game in OT of the tourney last year. He couldn't hit from outside but his slashing in the lane drew in defenses. When Maze tries to drive the lane the result is usually a turnover. That plus the comparison on defense, advantage Ramar.
Considering the Memphis staff says that, other than the missed layup by Robert Dozier, Ramar's defense on Rose in the last five minutes of the game was the biggest factor in Tennessee's win, I'll add that one. Also, he made three loose ball plays in the second half of the win at Xavier that kept the Muskies at bay, I'll take that one, as well.Im getting tired of hearing about Ramar's "great" basket in the butler game as if that defined his sophomore season.. is there any other game last season that he 'won' for us
Probably the same reason he recruited Marques Johnson and Cordell Passley. He wouldn't recognize a D-I point guard if one walked up and slapped him.

If im not mistaken, Rose scored a few baskets in a row down the stretch and i believe he scored 23 in the game? while ill match Ramar Smith's 'loose ball play' in the Xavier game with Bobby Maze's game winning shot against Arkansas
