1. An utterly shameful performance by Tennessee. To play with that little passion with SEC and NCAA Tournament seedings on the line is a disgrace.
2. No coach is getting his guys to play harder right now than Andy Kennedy. They utterly destroyed Tennessee with their toughness on the boards.
3. If surgeries and rehab go well, Ole Miss will be near impossible to guard on the perimeter next year. I can't think of a team that will return four better backcourt players than Warren, White, Huertas, and Polynice.
4. The entire SEC East is a wreck. There is no glory in finishing on top of the division this season.
5. Notre Dame's NCAA hopes are on life support. On the other hand, West Virginia should be comfortable now.
6. Seth Greenberg had a legitimate complaint when the Hokies were left out of the NCAA Tournament last year. Back to back losses to Maryland and Virginia indicate the NIT is where his club belongs this year.
7. I don't care if you're in the SWAC, 52 straight conference wins is an incredible accomplishment. Memphis is doing something we aren't likely to see again for a long, long time.
8. Congratulations to LSU on winning the SEC. Trent Johnson has certainly proven to be an inspired choice as head coach.
9. Butler has played themselves into dangerous territory. A loss in their BracketBuster game and they may well have to win their conference tournament to get into the 'AA field.
10. Jeff Lebo is trying to save Auburn a bunch of money. The Tigers are playing well enough to warrant his return next season.

I cant decide if its the coaches to blame or the players. Bruce obviously isnt an x and o coach but I had always thought that he was a great motivator.

Our team played with such little passion. They all need to sit down together and watch Rudy and see what its really like to work your ass off.

I like how Andy Kennedy is proactive when it comes to players making mistakes. When he sees something he doesn't like, you know that player is going to hear it from the bench. Wish we could see more of that from Bruce.

I agree with the lack of passion - I don't think its there in general. But don't you think that there are just substantial missing basketball skill and fundamentals with every single one of the individual players?

Compared to an Ole Miss playing without three of their five best players? No.

Late breaking news....the number is 53.

It looks like they might finish .500 in the conference, and might get 20 wins -- and that's an improvement. But, if you were Jay Jacobs, would you actually retain him?

He walked into a mess when he arrived, there's no question about that. But, no program in the SEC has been more irrelevant over the past 5 years than Lebo's.

In this economic climate, if the alums don't really care, and I think Auburn's don't, why not just let Lebo coach out next year and then hit your new arena with a fresh start? I don't necessarily agree with it, but I think that will be his logic.

Good stuff Hat...Tony Barbee is begging Cal not to lose any games untill he plays his team because Tony said his team will be the team to break that record. That should be a interesting game. Congrats to Andy K. the man is earning his $$$ in Oxford. His team next year should be a good one.

Andy Kennedy seems like a hell of a coach to me. For as many injuries as they have, he has done an unbelievable job.

If healthy, Ole Miss will have a Top 15 quality team in '09-'10.

That's part of why I thought they should terminate him this year -- I was under the impression that the new arena was going to be ready for next season.

I don't think you open a new arena with an old coach that's clearly not the long-term answer. I think you open a new arena with new blood and new excitement. You're right -- if they're stuck in BEMC next season, they might as well just ride it out with Lebo for one more year.

Kareem Cooper left UTEP today. Unless Stefon Jackson and Randy Culpepper combine for 50+, I can't see them beating Memphis.

hatvol - I always enjoy your observations and usually agree with you on all points. That was utterly shameful what the Vols put out on the court tonight. I also agree 100% that Kennedy is getting it done in Oxford. With all of the injuries, etc. his team has gone through, they play buzzer to buzzer harder than anyone in the league.

See, that really concerns me about this staff. That guy is going to be a stud and we hardly recruited him? And had to settle with Bobby Maze and Josh Tabb at PG?
I can't hammer them for that one. It was pretty obvious early on that he was staying close to home. Memphis and Arkansas were the only other contenders for his services.

If I'm Alabama, I think long and hard about making a run at AK.

Well, if that's the case, nothing you can do.
