The Pembroke Postgame Report-Ole Miss

He has seemed to regress instead of progress as the season has went along.

Top 3 disapointments would be

1. Renaldo Woolridge
2. B. Williams
3. B. Maze/C. Tatum

Woolridge is in no way a dissappointment.. i believe the consensus on him was that he would redshirt, but given the dissappointments across the board there really wasn't any reason to redshirt him.. im surprised Pearl didnt get Jurick a few minutes here and there at the beginning of the season

On the flipside of that, i've gotta give props to T. Smith. I have been down on him for most of the year, but he has showed me something as of late individually.

But this team, as many has pointed out, has been too inconsistent. Its understandable that they lack experience as a "Team" but they don't play with any fire what so ever. It's obvious that team chemistry isn't there.

It's hard to understand this team. Only approach i can take is that they are just a "home team"

1)With Ole Miss working the perimeter, how many times were we 3-1 under the boards and loss the ball?

2) Also, as big as Williams is no one should be able to slap the ball out of this hands. It happens 4-5 times each game.

Fundamentals. Broken Record. Repeat.

1) we don't, and haven't ever, boxed out. we try to out-jump.

2) it will continue to happen as long as he keeps bringing the ball down low, taking one hand off the ball, etc. if he holds it chest-high with both hands at opposite ends, nobody can get it from him.

Tatum, williams, maze have all been disappointments. The biggest is scotty hopson though. His shot isn't nearly as good as his hype and his defense is worse.

3. If surgeries and rehab go well, Ole Miss will be near impossible to guard on the perimeter next year.

Ole Miss won't be as good as you think, they have shown nothing in the last two years to make that assumption.. Yea they play tough but Andy Kennedy's x and o's are just as bad as Pearl's.. Ole Miss will be in the middle of the pack again next year too because they can't defend

Are you serious? They return 3 of their 4 best players from last year's squad.

No kidding. He needs to work on his control. He gets cleanly stripped near the basket on his way up in every game.

It looks like they might finish .500 in the conference, and might get 20 wins -- and that's an improvement. But, if you were Jay Jacobs, would you actually retain him?

He walked into a mess when he arrived, there's no question about that. But, no program in the SEC has been more irrelevant over the past 5 years than Lebo's.

If I were asked to compile a list of ten schools that should simply drop their basketball programs completely, Auburn would be on it. So would Georgia.

Georgia, with the right coach could be a very good program. By all reports their AD wants to make basketball a priority.

Ole Miss next year will be a hell of a lot better than Providence this year.

I observed the game first hand in section T - which was behind the UT bench. My second trip to the pad in 3 years - a gym that small just has a good "feel" to it.

The Vols got flat out whipped in every aspect of the game. And I was a little surprised that Bruce took it so well. I think it was 6 minutes into the game before he made his forst substitution. I kept waiting on him to send out 5 new guys all night.

His shot wasn't what got him hype. I know that wasn't really the main point - just sayin' though.

Don't read to much into the context of that. It was just a comment about a player that really hasn't lived up to the hype, thats all.
