The Pembroke Postgame Report.

1. Shades of Dan Federman at LSU in 1982. There's no better sound than shocked silence on the road.
2. While some of it was attributable to good defense, both teams have serious problems in the halfcourt offensively. There's no reason for either of those squads to struggle that much.
3. Tobias Harris fell in love with his jumper too much. As he matures, he'll learn to use those made threes as a decoy for his drive game.
4. If Chris Barnes and Jeremy Price weren't so awful, UGA would be in business. They get nothing out of that spot.
5. Jay Williams is the new age Len Elmore. Nice guy, awful analyst.
6. Tennessee is incredibly fortunate to win a game where their point guard play was that bad. Goins is completely lost offensively.
7. Scotty Hopson wasn't great, but he was aggressive. That's progress.
8. Travis Leslie is a good player and fun to watch. However, Gerald Robinson is the better basketball player.
9. It'll be interesting to see if Brian Williams maintains his level of performance from the last two games. Saturday will be a good test of that.
10. The UCONN game is now merely a fun opportunity. Winning tonight alleviates any desperate need for a victory Saturday.
I'm thinking right now #2 might be a understatement. Ugly but a win, i'll take it.

You think they have a pretty good chance at Uconn or no?

Im puzzled as to why Bone didn't play more to guard Robinson and Leslie on the perimeter. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Rob "Strong Take" Stone had himself a night as well.

When your pxp guy is awful it derails the whole thing. ESPNU is the experimental network for broadcasters though...There arent usually A teams working it.

It was a total disaster though from both.

+10, one for each point. Good post.

He's better than Asumnu, but anyone who uses a first round pick on him is setting themselves up for disappointment.

May be a strong candidate to add excitement back to the slam dunk contest at the All-Star game. Otherwise, no chance. No mid range jumper.

Leslie, while a phenomenal athlete, isn't a polished basketball player. Not very good with the ball yet.
If he declares for the draft, he got some bad advice.

As far as I know. I think he just ended up being too good for the OVC.

TSU is literally down the street from his, and my, highschool. So I believe he started out wanting to be close to his family, but he and his family soon realized he could pursue a greater opportunity. JMO.

1. Heckuva memory there.
6. Goins should've pulled the trigger on the last possession when Hopson brought the help and dished it to him for a wide open J with about 5 ticks left.
10. Bruce's teams usually play well in these games. Goins can make up for his poor offensive showings by bringing his best defensive effort against Walker.

Has Goins regressed from the end of last year, or was he always this indecisive?

Goins = dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble,
don't look to pass, throw up a wahoo shi ter.

Next series, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble,
don't look to pass, throw up a wahoo sh tter.

Next series, dribble, etc. etc. etc.

If nothing else he should have been in on d instead of McBee and then they could have switched for offense.

I wonder if Bone could play the point? He used to never penetrate but has been doing a better job of that lately.
