The Pembroke Postgame Report.

I can think of 2 or 3 assists right off the top of my head that Goins had. If the stats say he had 0, they're wrong.

I can't think of any he had. All the stats I've found said he had none. Not sure though, will watch the replay later.

Will Pat Summitt be in attendance at the UConn game? She should show up just to annoy their fans.

Coupla points: I don't see a lot of the Vols--but this team seems to play much better when the game is somewhat slow, when the tempo is moderate and the Vols are patient on offense. The defense is better, and so is the shot selection.

RE Goins: I like the way he plays in a lot of ways--he's quick and tough-minded and can defend (when he wants)--but yea, when your point guard does not record 1 assist in a game, something is wrong. But guard play is a weakness of this team--we don't quite have enough talent on the perimeter, but that is true inside as well. With a team like this, with all teams that aren't duke or unc or kansas, you gotta try to control tempo, play tough defense, take good shots, get to the foul line (very important) play smart basketball. A good win for a team that seems to have something of a shaky psyche.

At the beggining of the year I penciled in wins and losses on our schedule. I had us with 3 losses at this point. We have won all 3 of those that I had penciled as losses. Of course we have also lost 6 that I had penciled as wins. Hard team to figure. Hope the trend continues on Saturday.

While I agree, it's not as if our other players are doing a great job moving without the ball. They pass like to ships in the night when coming off screens. wouldn't mind seeing them run more of the flex look Pearls teams have run in the past. the flex cut was good to the vols in the past.

agreed. Player movement is sloppy.

Nice job HV. Spt on about S.H. Big SEC win on the road doesn't get any bigger. Thought I heard 4 first round draft prospects on the floor pre-game not sure I agree although multiple scouts in the crowd.

Goins defense is the only reason I would keep him on the floor. Although the dribbling and lack of ball movement is a flaw of his. Our offensive strategy only magnifies the issue.

1. Shades of Dan Federman at LSU in 1982. There's no better sound than shocked silence on the road.
2. While some of it was attributable to good defense, both teams have serious problems in the halfcourt offensively. There's no reason for either of those squads to struggle that much.
3. Tobias Harris fell in love with his jumper too much. As he matures, he'll learn to use those made threes as a decoy for his drive game.
4. If Chris Barnes and Jeremy Price weren't so awful, UGA would be in business. They get nothing out of that spot.
5. Jay Williams is the new age Len Elmore. Nice guy, awful analyst.
6. Tennessee is incredibly fortunate to win a game where their point guard play was that bad. Goins is completely lost offensively.
7. Scotty Hopson wasn't great, but he was aggressive. That's progress.
8. Travis Leslie is a good player and fun to watch. However, Gerald Robinson is the better basketball player.
9. It'll be interesting to see if Brian Williams maintains his level of performance from the last two games. Saturday will be a good test of that.
10. The UCONN game is now merely a fun opportunity. Winning tonight alleviates any desperate need for a victory Saturday.

Oxymoronic statement since Elmore is an attorney!:whistling:

Good Report Hat, but #3 garners an ESPECIALLY BIG "THIS"!!! He seems like he's so sharp that one film study will fix that tendancy....I hope, anyway. If he grabs ahold of that observation, his game will really take a leap.
