The Pembroke Postgame Report.

This team played as well in the first 20 as they have since the beginning of the season. Built a 20 point lead then looked a team that has lost 7 conference games in the second half.

They showed signs of turning the corner, then run into the wall.

Sunday is a must for momentum.

I don't really have the vocabulary to explain what is happening to this team, but I understand what is wrong. When we have a lead or play against a team that isn't high profile, we play lazy, poorly and its all effort related IMO.

We get 7 point leads and allow 9 point runs, it is all way to common to not have a sound reason, this team is just not mentally tough. Another problem is the teams low basketball IQ, it is so obvious at all points of every game we play and coach pearl even eluded to it in a recent comment.

On the bright side I am estatic for Scotty to be playing this well, SEC player of the week for sure.

If someone told me in October that Tennessee would be 8-7 with Hopson averaging 21 PPG in league play, no way would I have believed them.

The coaching carousel did not help. It has been a distraction IMO, that this team has not got away from yet.

Scotty has grabbed another gear, where the rest have hit a wall or regressed. Harris needs games like to night, and Tatum better find his game again if he is gonna pull this many mins.

Solid road win tonight. Any win in March is a good win.

I would love to agree and say the crowd will be crazy Sunday, but unfortunately, half of it may be wearing blue.

Say we lose Sunday... do we need a win in the Dome to solidify a tourney spot?

I'll say it before, and I'll say it again. Doesn't matter how, but when you win a road league game, it's always a positive.

Cam is trying too hard to fill JP's role from last year as a slasher and distributor and that is not what he is good at. He was more effective as a role player early in the season banging home about 3 triples a game and playing decent defense. He really is not great at any specific thing to warrant playing time at this point in the season.

I agree that Cam has regressed a lot since SEC play began, but think he actually had one of his better games in quite some time tonight. Got to line 6 times and had 4 assists. He took the ball to the hole and on one play passed up a wide open 3 and made a sweet pass to Harris for a 3-point play.

I was about to say this. Tatum played well in the final 10 minutes or so. It would be nice if he could play 25 minutes with that same productivity (resulting in around 10 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, 0 turnovers). Later on, even when he wasn't making shots, the shots he took were good and generally set up an offensive rebound. Plus, he actually made free throws...I was definitely surprised. Overall, not a great game, but he was a net positive, which is more than I can say for the 5 position (or even Bone in this game).

Hummm...maybe he is not needed. Seems like a pretty decent inside game in his absence.

It was terrific. Fields, Maymon, and Hall combined for 0 points and 3 rebounds in a combined 35 minutes. Luckily, they were able to hold Muldrow to 24 & 12.

It just looked like the area under the rim was accessible to Hopson, Harris...more so than with BW in there....more production from those guys anyway.

The area under the rim was accessible because Carolina's zone sucks.

How about the free throw shooting tonight. The best I've seen from this team all year.

More like 2 or 3 years. Thats how ball games are won. Look at our FT % in the 1st compared to the 2nd. The only reason it was even a game in the 2nd was out FT % was down.
