The Pembroke Postgame Report.

Phil Fulmer was at the game. That was quite a surprise. He moved to a seat that was five rows behind the UT bench late in the first half and signed autographs and posed for pics at halftime. I got a picture. That's the first time I've spoken to him. It was nice seeing him at the game (so long as he isn't trying to get back into the football offices).

1. Tennessee got a desperately needed win. That's the positive.
2. Tennessee played 20 solid minutes and slept through the second half. That's the negative.
3. Scotty Hopson is the best player in the SEC right now. He's dominating offensively.
4. Tobias Harris was as good as he's been all year. He did his work from the rim out to 15 feet.
5. Cam Tatum is thoroughly lost. He's doing nothing.6. Melvin Goins was average. He does get credit for the shot to put it away.
7. Darrin Horn should stop by Steve Spurrier's office and thank him for winning the East this fall. Otherwise, people in Columbia would be paying enough attention to realize Horn's the worst coach in the SEC.
8. It's no coincidence that South Carolina made their run with Bruce Ellington on the bench. He's talented, but totally out if control.
9. I feel bad for Sam Muldrow. He's a winner whose career has been wasted on mediocre teams.
10. Sunday will be fun. I'll be shocked if the crowd isn't in a full state of frenzy.

Maybe making him come off the bench might help? I don't know what it is, but sometimes that helps. Give Bone the start.

I thought Cam seemed lost at times on the offensive end but he made some good passes and had some hustle plays that helped us in the 2nd half.

I agree with everything but Horn. I think he's a touch better than Pelphry. But then again that's not saying much. Also on the recruiting issue. I give most of his "ability" to recruit is due more to him being at Arkansas and some kids will go there no matter who is coach. Especially those kids from Ark this year.

He was a few rows in front of me, I spoke with him briefly. I was amazed at the amount of SC fans that kept coming up to him for autographs, pics, and to just shake his hand.

The arena will be full Sunday morning. The only question is how many of them will be wearing blue.

It was terrific. Fields, Maymon, and Hall combined for 0 points and 3 rebounds in a combined 35 minutes. Luckily, they were able to hold Muldrow to 24 & 12.

Yeah, our post defense was very impressive. We only gave up 20 offensive rebounds and they were never able to drive to the hole, especially in the second half.

I bought an upper-level ticket through UT last week. That makes me think I'll literally be in a KY section. I had 2 full rows of Vandy students behind me at that game.

It is all about what is or isn't between the ears with this team. If they decide to play hard and focus for even 30 minutes they probably win. If it is just for 20 minutes they lose by 10.
