What are the chances we have "one of those nights" in the 1st or 2nd game of the SEC or NCAA tourney?

1. Burn the tape and move on with the season. Chalk it up as one of those nights.

There was about a 5 minutes stretch in the first half that saw Prince, Bone, McBee, Pearl, and Hall on the floor together for the entire period. I'd save that clip, as an example of something never to do again. All of those guys have had flashes of good play during the past couple of weeks, but that group together would fare poorly in the OVC.

3. Travis Leslie is fun to watch. Of course, it's easy to make highlight plays when the other side isn't playing any defense.

I lost count sometime during the first half, but the number of dunks and uncontested layups by UGa was disgraceful. We won't beat anybody if our defense reverts to that.

I think Pearl realized what kind of day it was and that lineup was a subliminal white flag.

I hate to break it to you, but there is no "race" in the SEC this year.
I'm not sure we can overtake them in the SEC, but Kentucky is not as "other-worldly" as people think. Auburn and Georgia both nearly beat them and if Stanford could hit free throws they would have already lost. Like you say, Arkansas is just terrible. UK has way more talent than we do...but then again, so did Kansas. I still think we'll split with UK. It's winning our other SEC games that will be the problem.

In response to the Uconn win... Kemba Walker is a player, and Damion James makes things look effortless.

I didn't see any of the Tennessee game, but when i saw us down 42-27 thoughts of the USC game came to mind.

Concerning # 5, and speaking of soccer flops, I had decided to begin sauteing Crimini's, ****ake's and some wild 'shrooms for a part of dinner and was trying to ignore the abysmal effort surpassed only by the abysmal officiating.....game effecting officiating, but was that a sweet soccer flop that McBee pulled off or what. Great sales job...as I said I was immersing myself in cooking and TRYING not to watch, but I THINK that it was Skylar that did the master flop wasn't it? Great sales job

Yeah, the fact Wayne does that three or four times a season is a mere coincidence.

I, too, saw the replay and thought he would be out for the season. This, and the "no race in the east" comment is the only thing I can maybe disagree with. You don't have to take our dreams away. I agree with the other poster: the problem is not in beating Ky. The problem is in winning all the other games.

You got a mushroom censored. Cool.

Leslie and Thompkins are All SEC type players. Even though I don't care for UGA, these guys are good.

I thought maybe it was an experiment to see if he could steal minutes with Hopson, Chism, and Maze all on the bench. He couldn't, and he left them for too long in what could have been a critical point in the game.

That group can't score at all, and there are too many mismatches to defend. I won't pretend to know what kind of substitution patterns you need to plan for a two game per week SEC schedule, but I do know that shouldn't be part of it. You can't have all of your weapons on the bench at the same time.

Kenny Hall and Tobias Harris banging down low in 2012 will be nasty!

I agree, but we need some depth. The only players we have committed for '11 are guards. I'm glad to have them coming in, but we need another post player. Do we really have that much faith in Maymon?

With regard to Pelphrey - he's clearly not getting the job done. I hoped he would since I know him from my days at UK (he was one of my students). He's a nice guy and gave his all for UK. Unfortunately he either cannot coach at this level or is not ready to.

Let's hope so. After all the football program has been through, if the basketball team starts to slide, what a mess. The basketball team has been our one saving grace through the abysmal football coaching debacle.

what's clear is that Prince (and the approach of putting a taller, lankier guy sloughing off on him) was ineffective.

Two more examples from yesterday's game why this defensive approach is ineffective. Twice, the defender played off their man in an attempt to keep him in front and contest the shot.

With less than a min left, Chism gave Parsons space, and Parsons still drilled a 3 over the outstretched arms of a 6'9" defender playing off him. Then, next series on the other end, Hopson drilled a long jumper over the outstretched arms of a 6'9" Parsons.
