Charlotte.

They are the most likely of the group to make the Tournament.

I wouldn't say every year is the same. His first and third year teams were hardly mediocre, at least not in the regular season. Both fizzled come tournament time though. His first team it was understandable, but his third year, it wasn't.

His second year team was "more mediocre" in the regular season but actually turned it on come tourney time.

Now last year's team was definitely mediocre and ended so, and this year's team looks like it's headed to the same conclusion unless something changes quickly.

None of those tournament teams advanced beyond the Sweet 16. But, with Tennessee being a football school, I think Pearl will be around as long as he's taking a team to the Tournament. The results in the Tournament probably won't matter.

Tennessee is a "football school" in name only right now. Any time someone brings that up, I remind myself and everyone else that I'm about to graduate from college in 3 months, and the last time UT football won the SEC, I was in 5th grade.

BTW, Jerry Green made the NCAAT all 4 years he was at UT, but it wasn't enough for him to stay employed.

Charleston has a better chance of getting the SoCo's automatic bid than Charlotte does of making the field.

Fair enough. I've not looked at the conference standing in a couple of weeks.

While I'm thinking about it, does Murray State have the guns to be a potential Cinderella or are they just the beneficiaries of a good low-major team agaisnt a terrible schedule?

Eerie. This post from 15 years ago.....

They're good. The problem is that their weak schedule is going to probably put them in a bad spot where seeding is concerned. If they could get a 12 or 13, they can win. They wouldn't have much shot against a 1, 2, or 3 seed.

I think they are probably in the 13-14 range. If they had ran the tables in the OVC maybe a 12.

Why did you omit the other 5 wins? Obviously, Kansas is the most impressive win of the entire season. Your point is apparently that we have 15 wins against teams that anyone could beat?

20 wins when 15 are against cupcakes is not quite as impressive as you made it out to be.

With all the things that have gone on this year and the loss of players for several games or the entire season, 20 wins is much more impressive than would have otherwise been the case.

I'll compromise.

Pearl's teams can bow beat the mid-major teams on the schedule that we should never lost to. He can also beat the bottom-feeder teams in the SEC pretty regularly. That is an upgrade over Buzz. There, I'll give you that.

Geez, I'm thinking contract extension and raise for accomplishing that.
