This is fact. The overreacting on Hadden is getting ridiculous. Both DPI's on Hadden were the benefit of horrible throws. Neither one was going to be caught regardless. They had 1 deep ball on target vs him and he broke it up. He picked the other. The guy smashed every bubble screen they ran his way and got hosed on a clear strip fumble. And so we're those pathetic PI calls
Shouldn't be rewarded for underthrows
But keep up with the bashing narrative
A degree of "touch" on the ball helps receivers on all passes not just short flicks, it helps allow for the pass being off target slightly. Receivers might get their hands on a hardball but no touch will lead to fewer catches. That said. We did have some outright drops as well.Thats a pattern with Milton. Like if only receivers hasnt dropped passes. Happened last week with Keyton’s drop. You never hear that kindof excuse making with actually good QBs.
I don't think the fans prefer one QB over the other. We just want someone who can win. We all remember Milton last year missing wide open receivers until Hooker got the start. All around the SEC teams are playing with rookie qb's and we have a " seasoned " qb. Many fans thought this was to be our season and yet here we are still struggling on offense. Maybe the fans expected too much after last season's success ?Our highest ceiling as a team is Joe learning quickly to bring Clemson Joe every week. The floor with Milton is 7-5 or 8-4.
Bench him now and start Nico and our ceiling is 9-3 floor 7-5. There is no reason not to stick with Milton till we lose and it’s because of Milton.
Note: we won’t alternate QB’s. That doesn’t work. So when you bench one too early it divides the team, fanbase, and will also make Nico feel if he gets shaken he’ll get benched. Nothing to gain by playing that game. All you go with Nico crowd need to chill out. The back up QB is always everyone’s fav until he’s the starter.
I thought both DPI's were uncatchable balls. The 2nd one was minimal contact at best, AP got away with worse. Of course you're going to run into the WR when the pass is 5 yards behind him and he suddenly stops. They got the benefit of bad throws, it happens sometimes. Maybe I'm just not seeing what yall saw. How many yards and TD's did Hadden actually give up?? Off the top of my head I can remember 3PBU's. One was on a perfectly thrown deep ball. He also had an int on a deep ball, near pick 6 on a screen, multiple textbook open field tackles on screens, and a strip fumble that should have counted. I gotta go back and watch again but I don't remember what turnage did, I know Slaughter gave up at least 1 big play.He was beat on those PI calls as well. They were under thrown and and he ran through the WR... Not bashing, just calling it as I see it. They moved him out of the boundary and tried out Daneiko and Turnage; coaching staff is obviously trying to find answers and saw the same thing.
Fortunately, I believe we have the right HC to handle the QB situation in a way that's best for the team...Our highest ceiling as a team is Joe learning quickly to bring Clemson Joe every week. The floor with Milton is 7-5 or 8-4.

Great point, Hadden was fantastic at block destruction and making plays on the perimeter. In that respect, he prevented a lot of big plays.I thought both DPI's were uncatchable balls. Yeah on Haddens first DPI I thought AP got away with the same exact thing on McCoy and Squirrel in the end zone. I think it was DPI on Hadden and AP, but they didn't call it consistently. That 2nd DPI was iffy at best and Hadden was stride for stride with him. The deep ball Hadden broke up was a perfect pass and Hadden was in great position to make the play. The other PD's he had were also great position. The only play were I thought Hadden was really beat was the first DPI. I thought he by far was our best CB at getting off blocks and immediately making the tackles for minimum gains. If his FF stood and he ended up getting that pick 6 the 2 DPI's would have been forgotten and the entire narrative would be flipped. I'm not as concerned with Hadden as I am witg Slaughter & Gabe.Great point, Hadden was fantastic at block destruction and making plays on the perimeter. My biggest problem with the PI is that we didn’t get the exact same call when the AP defender ran through Squirrel White in the end zone. Other than that, I believed it was textbook interference on #5, but that happens. My concern is that he was behind the WR on all of those plays with no safety help - a decent ball would’ve been a TD on any of those plays, his PBU’s were in that same vein.
The very worrisome part is what you stated at the end. Slaughter and Turnage weren’t any better, which tells me this is an issue that can only be fixed through recruiting. It was honestly one of my biggest concerns all off season that we had a ton of bodies to play at corner, but we lacked the feet and hips to be lockdown SEC CBs.
