Suppression of testosterone can lead to physical changes including the following: increased body fat. decreased strength/mass of muscles. fragile bones.

Not that it would ever happen but how do you think a male to female trans with severely suppressed testosterone would fair against Killa Kamilla?

It still doesn't negate the many years of growth and body development as a male. There are scientifically documented differences. I spend a lot of time at swim meets and the difference in 13yo+ male/female age groups is undeniable. Once you hit the college ranks it's almost like watching the difference in male vs female basketball.

It is interesting though that time standards for girls thru 12yo are more difficult than the boys. There's a huge difference at 13yo+ where the boys times drop significantly. One guess why

Puberty blockers ( suppression of testosterone or estrogen ) are often the treatment of choice for intersex and transgender youth. What years before puberty would count as the "many years of growth and body development"?

My point ( which you missed ) is that hormone therapy ( puberty blockers ) begins before puberty and at those younger ages there's little differences in physicality between the sexes. Hormone therapy is continuous.

I missed nothing as you can see where the responses came from.

And long term use of the hormone therapy should be labeled child abuse. Those seeking it for pre-pubescent children are doing it with a purpose that is not in the child's long term interests

What parents and their family physicians decide to do with their children's treatment has nothing to do with the NCAA regulations.

It would take one of your own with intersex or trans to understand what they go through.

No it wouldn't. It just takes understanding kids. These parents are pushing it and only go to doctors that will agree. It's become a big business. Can't get a tattoo at 11yo but you can choose to sterilize yourself. Makes compete sense.

The lawsuits coming in a few years will be legendary

My goddaughter went thru this a few years ago. Thankfully she had parents who were understanding but firm. She now looks back at pictures from that time period and is very embarrassed at how she chose to portray herself.

There are some real problems out there, but this transgender thing is the crap that rises to the top. The kids being killed by guns....not talking about that. The idiocy of these people is stunning.

Which guns are going around killing people? Maybe we should talk about trans going around and shooting kids instead. Back to the topic, if you’re self aware to know you want to pretend you’re something you’re not you should be self aware enough to realize you may be restricted from participating in actual gender specific activities.

Keeping someone from permanently scarring their bodies is compassion. Playing along with their mental illness is not compassion

If by kids you mean 16-21 year olds in inner cities, yes. Younger people are far more likely to participate in gangs and die as a result. But that’s a different thread. Probably best suited for the defund the police thread

If you had a daughter raised as a girl with female genitalia but found out at the age 14 that the reason she didn't develop breasts or a period was because of internal testicles. I hope you're smart enough to understand that your best decision would be to have those testicles surgically removed and immediately begin estrogen therapy. This is what parents of intersex children are up against. Without medical intervention and treatment that poor 14 year old female would be a prime candidate for MI.

That’s a different thing than what we are discussing. Thomas wasn’t born with ovaries. You’re talking about a different thing and trying to lie and pretend it’s the same thing.

The Trans argument isn’t about people with actual medical issues like you described but rather people with fully functioning male or female genitalia who decided they would rather be the opposite of what they are.

If Lia Thomas had ovaries instead of testes, no one would care that he competed against women

Many people with intersex also identify as transgender. In either case they would test genetically opposite of how they were raised and/or opposite of what they identify as. The treatment of both can be very similar.
