The Recruiting Fix: Something Special Brewing

Good point on Browning. 0 chance that he ends up with the program next year short of being named the O-line coach, which would require getting rid of someone else on the staff. I can't see that happening.

While I'm sure that you are right about Browning moving on, I would not put the percentage at 0. He has ties to Monte that go way back and would easily be the first replacement for Jim Chaney. I noticed that Browning was sitting in the booth with Chaney during the USCe game. In effect you have two offensive coordinators in the booth. Kiffin deserves more credit for stacking the coaching staff.

How long can a person be a G.A.? My assumption is two football seasons. Anyways, thanks for the recruiting summery, it is appreciated.

Dude, he is not going to remain on the staff as a grad assistant when he can be making hundreds of thousands somewhere else. That's a ridiculous notion. I don't care if he's Monte's twin brother, he aint working for peanuts.

Thanks for your kind comments.

I would really like to see Allen in Orange but I heard the staff didn't want this guy and his heart it somewhere else anyways. All of the video footage I have seen of this guy, he seems to have it all. Wishful thinking for me at least.

No, the staff wants him. They'd be insane not to. The problem is he seems to be all but wrapped up and tied with a Crimson bow for opening on Feb 3rd in Tuscaloosa.

There is a rumor down here in Florida that Jimbo Fisher might try to make a play for Thompson to be the new DC at FSU, and maybe bring someone with him. Anyone else hear anything about this?

Yes, we've heard about it. Tell your coach thanks for starting it.

Great insight as always

I know nothing about this, but I think we pull out Mack Brown. I have no inside source or anything, just a gut feeling. I could be completely wrong, but that's my surprise committ.

Excellent write up and solid info Sab...as usual. I've heard a lot of the same stuff from friends and insiders so in some cases I sure hope where there's smoke, there is fire...

Wow, I could have saved about 5 hours of reading here and VQ all week. Your write up covered it all. Thanks Sab.

Thanks, Sab, your analysis is well appreciated. It seems the amount of fence sitters is huge - let's hope we get the right ones!

Any info on the next announcements from any of these guys?

Thanx, Sab, excellent read! :good!:

Now that Dyer has gone to the Barn, who do you think our staff will pursue at RB? (I know they won't quit on Dyer, but who else?)

I'm telling you guys right now Lance Thompson is the DC in waiting at Tennessee. He loves Monte, loves learning under him and when the time is right will probably inherit that role from him.

Maybe, but I was thinking it was CEO that was essentially being trained by CMK to be the DC in waiting, with the hopes that with all the success, he would soon get another crack at HC'ing, somewhere.
