1. The officiating in the SEC, which in years past has been less than stellar, has generally sucked on an entirely new level this season.
2. There are several specific instances where the suckiness has directly benefitted the highest profile teams, namely Florida, Bama, and earlier in the year, LSU.
I have no idea whether there is bias towards the league darlings or not, but it is inexcusable to have such substandard officiating in the best football league in the land.
One final thought: can you imagine the outrcry if the officiating suckocity, rather than helping the SEC's undefeateds, had gotten them beat?
This. Right after the 'Bama game the first thing I heard from their fans was the officiating sucked. There were a couple of holds and PI that were not called on us and you can bet that had we made that field goal they'd be whining harder than any LSU or Arkansas fan.
Not to say LSU or Arkansas didn't get shafted
