The sampson push

Didn’t see this posted. Cool article with Mays about the push

"During the play, I thought they were going to blow it dead at some point," said Mays. "Because I couldn't see anything, I was in the middle of it, so I couldn't' really see, but I felt like we were stalling out or maybe going a little bit backwards. And I was like, they're gonna blow it dead. And then we started moving forward, but we were moving forward slow. And then I was really like oh my God they're going to blow it dead and I'm just going to be exhausted this next play. So I was just like please don't blow it dead because I don't even know if I can run another play at this point. That's the most tiring, tiring thing you can do is push the pile -- especially when you're in the middle of it. Terrible. But super awesome."

I can’t believe they let it continue…. Looked like it stalled out
I think everyone knew what was going on and Sampson, heck in fact all UT RB's in the JH era have a track record of churning after contact. Remember there was call, I think it was earlier this year or last year, where one was blown dead too early.

I personally feel like no one on the field had an issue with that call. From what I saw on the field the players were good, there was no chippiness and UT players were helping UK players up and vice versa on plays during the game. I think only UK fans are salty about it as they should be for being on the backend of an ESPY winner.

You think about that whole drive. UK had just pulled to within 3 points. That drive right there said a lot about UT football this year.. You can't tell me your BVS wasn't flaring up at the time. That was calm and collected and they went right down the field. Tennessee is a good team. It's not always pretty and i'm glad we're at the point where we can talk about style points again... Been a while, so enjoy the moment and just remember this may only be the beginning.

You’re right.
But remember that damn lull in end of the 1st qtr- mid 2nd qtr where either a whistle was being blown for penalty, or a timeout was called, or a player was injured…seriously that lasted for like 35 mins with commercial breaks. I had to turn the damn game because it was absolutely frustrating to watch.

My point- the refs eventually were just letting them play because the game had to speed up and the teams needs to start a real flow to the game.
You should have been setting in the stands, the red hat had more time on the field than any player

only if they give out two RBs. its going to be the Jeanty kid from Boise. he has better stats than Sampson, but he is playing in the Mountain west, sooooo I would say its a push...
Jeanty is definitely elite. But man if Sampson gets close to Henry’s TD record or breaks it?
