... the Virginia and LSU games.

Win them both, and the ship is pretty much righted, with the odds of a birth in the Dance greater than 50/50.

Split, and we're going to have to go something like 14-4 in the SEC to get in, and pull off at least one big upset (beat Kentucky in Lexington, Florida in Gainesville, etc.) in the process. Not impossible, but highly unlikely.

Lose them both, and we're done. As is Cuonzo.

I thought it was crazy in the preseason Tennessee not being ranked but I guess I was the crazy one. If the talent wasnt there that is one thing but the talent is there so that is another.

We should be 9-2 or 10-1 at worst right now. This team is too talented to be 7-4. They're Jeckyll & Hyde. If Counzo can't win this year, he's not going to!

Cuonzo will NOT be done until after next season. They will ride it out to not give him a buy out.

However; if we don't make the tourney, it will impact the program hugely. Everyone will know that Martin is on his last leg and it will impact recruiting for next year.
Recruits will back off of their committment, once they realize that Martin is a dead man walking.

If he can't win this season, with this line up, then he will have less of a chance for success with next season's line up.

We'd still have to buy him out if fired in April 2015.

will we see if we revert to old losing ways by letting the opponent dictate tempo and walk it up while lazily going thru the motions of a halfcourt offense before watching McRae launch? Or will we sprint up the court and attack the basket before the D can get set, get in rhythm with confidence and win?

Sucks for Zo.... LSU is not a pushover this season with their only 2 losses coming against ranked opponents (UMass & Memphis). One positive to look forward to is that both of LSU's interior guys O'Bryant and Mickey are 6'8ish, but Mickey is a shot blocking machine.

His job comes down to making the tourney. Doesn't meter about the next two games. He makes the tourney he gets another year. He doesn't and I can't see how he gets another year.

I would actually be ok with 8-3 right now.

Lose to Xavier at their home court on first game. Tough environment to play and was first real game of the year.

We would have likely had one loss in the tourney. Had we beat UTEP we would have had Iowa and possible Kansas. I don't like UTEP loss, but expected one in the tourney. Ok, so we played UTEP at 10 at night after a long flight and were lifeless.

Then Wichita State was a final four team last year with almost everyone back playing not the road with them would have been a tough win.

Ok, then we should have won the rest and be at 8-3 right now. Most of us would have been ok with that.

That NC State loss to me was worse then UTEP. It wasn't the loss, it was just watching a team that just looked like they didn't care. Not sure what was wrong, but they looked slow and just plain like a bad team. Makes me think making the tourney is a long shot for this team. This team which talent wise has 3 5* recruits playing and had more talent then any team in the SEC except for Florida and Kentucky will be lucky to make the tourney.

I guess losing to lousy teams is ok with you.

No it sucks. I just never was one of those kids to fall to the ground kicking, screaming, and crying for what I wanted. That is the equivalent to wanting your coach fired after his second year, because it didn't turn out like you wanted. Not making the tourney sucked, but dude won 20 games both of his first 2 seasons.

However, like 98% of the people on here if he can't get this years squad to the dance I don't think he can succeed here. But y ou gotta give a ciach a chance.

I wanted CCM to succeed in a big way...All the posts that allude to him staying or going is just plain evidence that a mediocre program is where we will be at best with him leading. I say support the players and when the season is done, demand a change for the better. I think if we make the NCAA it will be a bottom 2 or 3 pick. That's where we are!!!! One more year will just put off the action of replacing him and bring great damage to recruiting.

I think it will take more than beating both of those teams to get in. We have pretty much knocked ourselves out of the ncaa tourney. It will take something drastic like sweeping UF and winning 10 or more conference games to get in.
