The SEC Is Bad.

Off topic, but with Georgia losing to Western Kentucky, who also beat Louisville, what do you think about WKU's chances in the Sun Belt this season?
The Belt is going to be very competitive. Both Arkansas schools appear to be pretty good. South Alabama is decent. MTSU is probably the most talented team. I saw New Orleans live Saturday and now that Kendall Dykes is back healthy and all of their newcomers are acclimating themselves to D-I, I think they'll be a factor by the end of the year. Western will certainly make some noise.

The hits just keep on coming. Mississippi State getting run out of their own buliding by a mediocre to bad Charlotte team.

Trent Johnson should still be at Stanford. He'll do well with Brady's talent and should do fine in the SEC overall.

Yeah we may be the only SEC team ranked in the top 20 all year if this keeps up. I tend to think Florida and Kentucky will improve. It's pretty ugly right now though.

I expect to see Kentucky ahead of Florida in the end. They worry me a bit how bad they can play and still be in some games. They never should have beaten WVU and KSU with the way they played. They also gave Miami a good game at Miami.

I don't see Florida getting as good as people say they will. They'll have a similar season as last year. Kentucky and LSU are Tennessee's biggest threat to an SEC championship. It's early, but I don't see Tennessee having too much trouble with the SEC.

The Miami game was in Lexington.

And for two years straight, Florida has a very weak non conference schedule. I don't see them being ready for SEC play.

Oh - nevermind then - not sure where I got that.. I watched the game just slipped my mind. Still was pretty impressive home, away, or neutral to be in that game.

IIRC, they were down 20 at the half, only to make an ugly game look misleadingly respectable at the end. This was not a loss that fills you with confidence in the strength of the conference.

They were pretty dadgum close at the end before they started chipping away with fouls in the last 2 minutes I believe. Kentucky made a steady run through out the second half... Miami responded.. then came the free throw shooting contest to bring the score back down a little more.

The SEC has to have the least impressive OOC resume of any major conference. Their may be one or two non-BCS conference with better wins.

They were down 20 at half. They were down 17 with 15 minutes left. they were down 12 with 10 minutes left. They did cut it to 4 with less than 30 seconds, thanks in significant part to Miami going 6-13 from the line down the stretch, but although I was only watching it with half attention, I never felt they were a threat to win the game after digging such a large hole.

I do not think we watched the same game, and I'll stand by my point that there was little impressive in the loss.

The beat goes on. A&M beats Alabama. The SEC can't even win home games against middle of the road Big 12 teams. This is ridiculous.
