The SEC next year

I don't want him playing point either, but he has solid handles. In fact, I wish he weren't so much of a spot-up shooter. It seems he does better when he takes a few dribbles.

McBee can't play point and is a very below average ball-handler. If he dribbled more, it would A) get stolen; or B) his shot would got thrown into the stands.

He played PG in high school, I believe averaged more than 20 a game. If you look at his history here, he's missed way more shots that were spot-ups. I'm not saying he needs to dribble up and down the court, but he just shoots a lot better if he tries to create a little space (ie, Kansas). I have a little bit of a problem with the way the TBA crowd reacts to Skylar. They go absolutely nuts when he hits a shot, when any other player could make 10 times of a better play, and the crowd isn't nearly as loud. My point is that I've paid close attention to Skylar and everything he does. Having said that, he has decent handles, and I think he shoots a little better off the dribble.

He played against poor competition in high school.

This may very well be the case; however, Skylar simply isn't going to be creating his own shot against SEC caliber defenders. His only chance at playing time is being a good spot up shooter, imo.

IMO, he's already established himself as a better non-spot up shooter. But I definitely expect him to be much improved in his spot ups, and regardless of his competition in HS, he is capable of handing the ball with care.

In any case, we all know his biggest weakness is defense. Geez he is awful.

He may handle the ball with as much care as he possibly can. But his handling is not good enough at this level.

May have worked against the Washburns of the world. Not so much against D1 competition.

All you gotta do is utilize your Point Forward - T Harris.

Michael Porter.....

That would be the result of the McBee PG experiment.

I was illustrating the tallest group possible which did not include goins. Mcrae will play 2 primarily but like mcbee he can play point.

I would be willing to bet that McRae will never see the floor at point for the Vols. More MHF nonsense is all this is.

BVF, your one line jokes that bump a thread so I think there is more to read about a subject I care about are about as awesome as hearing someone whistle a song you hate that then gets stuck in your head.

Wake up. Didn't you see that South Carolina lost the only two guys they had who could score? That means they will be vastly improved. Auburn returns about 5 points per game, they have to be better. Kentucky stocked the first round of the NBA Draft, they'll probably only lose a game or two. Tennessee will be starting a point guard who for the majority of last season was an average 12 minute a night guy and has no Wayne Chism. That's almost like having a bye to the Final Four.

Cothern did not get in which prompted me to change my stance on Auburn before the season.

Tennessee sure is sucking and South Carolina has no scorers..

Jesus tapdancing Christ, did you even read the post you quoted?
If South Carolina had found five more points today, they'd have matched the total that offensive juggernaut Michigan rang up against Clemson.

Slightly off topic, but is anyone watching this thumping USC is putting on Texas? Tennessee better be focused or it could be a repeat of last season.

Marcus Simmons flat locked down on Jordan Hamilton. If the officials allow him to be that physical in Knoxville, it'll be a good test for Hopson's newfound toughness.

O'Neal can coach defense. It will be a very tough game for us any where we play them. They will control tempo and take us out of our new-found half-court defense.

I know a big time Memphian that had his first son a few weeks ago. Ill make a MHF prediction and say that the 2029 Memphis team will be legit. Its not too early right?

I'll be very surprised if UT doesn't handle USC with relative ease.

Will not be a mediocre conference unless you define mediocre as less than the best 2.

A preseason top 10 seems absurdly early at this point, but with the exception of possibly Vanderbilt and certainly Ole Miss, every SEC team will be improved next year. D Horn has a very strong class coming in and should not have all his frontcourt talent out with injury most of the year as he did last year. Billy d has talent in the frontcourt coming in to pair with maclin. Tennessee has a player who spurned all his Big East suitors to come to a school that most of us love, as well as a player who left the Big East when his coach played him way out of position exclusively.

Look around the league, auburn will be better as will LSU and UGA. The SEC should have a dramatically improved out of conference record.

To whoever told me a few months ago that UK could not possibly get a top recruiting class, you do not understand cal and his bagman wesley.Tennessee will be much better than virginia tech next year. The hokies will be top 10 in the acc, but it is laughable to think that they will end the year over duke and unc.

William Wesley can no longer contact recruits as he is a licensed agent.
