The SEC Tournament Thread

The SEC sucks, but Kentucky has a few pretty good wins outside conference (Destroyed #8 Kansas, took care of Louisville, North Carolina quite handily, and Texas).

The story for UK is that when they decide to turn it on, they are unstoppable. The rest of the time, they just play to the level of the competition.

Conference foes know you better than the dweebs that you'll play in the NCAAT, so it's always more competitive. As in football, for the most part, SEC basketball players are more athletic (read: not talented) than those in other conferences. Those are the types of teams that UK struggles with.

Cats will hang #9- of this, I am quite confident.

I've seen 2 1/2 games of Florida vs. Kentucky.

I know how bad Florida is. I've got money that says Kentucky does not win it all at the NCAA tournament.

They are undefeated because the SEC sucks.

Either they have to raise their game to a level that I haven't seen or they will get beat by someone along the way who is way, way better than Florida

The sad thing is, you should be able to beat most teams. When you got a team that's full of NBA players, you're expected to destroy most opponents. The SEC in basketball is not as strong as the ACC so of course you're going to have the advantage. It's basically men vs boys when UK plays SEC basketball competition so it's not like its a surprise or anything. The only way UK loses if you lose yourselves.

I'm just telling you what I see and am being honest.

The Anthony Davis squad beats the snot out of this team.

I have no doubt that Kentucky has another level they can take it to and they are going to need to.

They took their play up a notch in last year's NCAA tournament.

But, this is the third game between these two where for too much of the game Florida is hanging with a team they have no business being on the floor with.

I want to go watch the game in one of the classrooms but I've listened to it online so far so I'm a little nervous about switching it up

Anthony Davis said it himself that the 2011 Kentucky team would destroy this years Kentucky team and he's right.

I still only see a couple teams come tourney time that can beat this uk team. Wisconsin will have a shot as well as duke. I think the way to beat them is a great three shooting team that gets hot.

And like that, Kentucky up by 11. That's why we play 2 halves.

I don't worry about Duke unless we meet them before the Final Four. 3-shooting teams struggle in football stadiums.

Wisky is athletic enough to make it a bruiser of a game. Kaminsky vs. Cauley-Stein would be an epic matchup.

Kaminsky would make WCS his *****. WCS is so soft, as evident by the missed lay-up dunk attempt right there.

You must have mistaken me for someone who thinks there is a chance in hell Florida wins this game.

I'm not running smack. I'm just saying Florida has walk on team managers on the floor, no post presence offensively or defensively, no ability to dribble penetrate, stop dribble penetration, shoot free throws, rebound, etc.....

This game has no business being competitive into the 2nd half.

When he is engaged, he is as dominant as any player in CBB. When he's in "blowing dandelions in the outfield" mode, it's a frustrating watch.

I don't know if he is weak or soft, but Id take Towns and call it a day. I thinks WCS gets more pub than he should and people don't talk about Towns enough.

This is true. The talent gap between the 2 is massive. No different than with UT and all but about 90% of the conference.

Id agree with that. Offensively he still relies on great players and shooters being around him to provide space. And even at that I think he's mediocre against decent size bigs.

I think duke could hit enough shots to cause problems. A team like Zona might be interesting but I think uk will hit more shots. I just don't see a time that doesn't drain shots beating uk Bc most teams haven't seen size like this at this level. If uk does lose it will be because they don't score enough. They don't have a ton of great offense players
