Is really showing the nation just how far above every other conference they are in these bowl matchups...

The SEC chest pounding is gladly taking a beating. Who cares if the rest win, only wins that matter are UT.

Seriously? One off matchups with nothing on the line? You think LSU or UF lose with a title riding?

Who cares, the top end is not as good as advertised, they lost. Go Irish and lets move on.

LSU lost their game to Clemson; UF is getting spanked by Louisville; SC barely beat a not so hot Michigan team; and Northwestern beat Mississippi State. I do not know nor care to speculate what would happen if a title was on the line; I do know that the SEC is showing that they are nothing more than an average conference thus far through the bowl season.

Maybe aTm comes out and shocks OU; maybe Bama runs roughshod over ND. However, if those things do not happen, then the SEC has simply fooled everyone with a very elaborate circle jerk the past two seasons.

Elaborate circle jerk will produce two national titles, three of four title participants and more NFLers than anyone. Revenue won't have been bad either.

Bowl season as any sort of determinant is atrocious, particularly in the modern game, where turnovers are half the fight.

There is only one truly meaningful bowl game. I think coaches do a lot if things they wouldn't normally do.

LSU came out and did nothing but try things for next season. Didn't even try to hide that they weren't playing to their strengths. Didn't remotely try to control the ball. Spent the day getting Mettenberger confidence. Gameplan is radically different if they need the W.

Excuses all around but it's obvious the the SEC is not as strong as advertised. If so, they could have best all these teams no matter the gameplan. Truth is, SEC is just another conf with one great team and a few better than average ones.

Bullshiz. LSU intentionally throwing more for next season wasn't about besting Clemson, who was clearly invested. UF has just played poorly and gotten killed for it. It happens.

This is about the greatest excuse I have ever heard. During the regular season, the SEC powers choose to avoid really ought non-conference matchups, and during the bowl games, the games do not matter so when they lose it means nothing.

Do you know where I can buy some more elephant repellent?

Bowl games mean absolutely nothing besides the title game.....it is why I don't gamble on them bc u never know who is there to play ball and who is there for a vacation.

LSU could have made it much tougher by simply running the ball. Who knows why they didn't? Maybe it was Miles being Miles. Maybe it was simply bad play calling. Maybe they were trying to instill some confidence in their terrible qb.

not sure we can even say the SEC has even one great team this year.. I am having trouble believing that bama will win their game.

LSU has drilled Oregon twice recently.

Which other conference is lining up OOC games of value? Better yet, which are signing up SEC teams?

Seems to me AL has beaten the living shiz out of PSU, VT and MI in the last couple seasons. LSU similarly playing Oregon. UF keeps playing FSU and UM. Who your Big 12 boys signing up?

I'm sticking to SEC is average. If ND wins that further proves the point. Besides, why do you care if the SEC is all that?

I don't care. I think the SEC as great is crap, but it was flat more talented this year. Last year it was mediocre.

Why in the hell should anyone think ND can win? They should be two touchdown dogs. They would be to multiple SEC teams. They are D only and would probably be 4th or 5th best D in the SEC.

FIRST: No college coach comes out and just plays around or experiments in a game that will be 1/4 of his team's final game of the career, so that excuse doesn't wash. Anyone who thinks that's what LSU did has no idea what these games mean to the players or coaches (and their university from a financial standpoint). Clueless. And the "no motivation to win" excuse is similarly laughable. There's everything in the world on the line for these players, and everyone involved.

The SEC is truly a paper tiger, with the huge exception of NFL Jr. Alabama. I mean, Northwestern, Michigan, Louisville, Clemson? Seriously? Of those, Clemson is pretty good. GA struggled mightily with a very average Nebraska before pulling away late, and SC needed a miracle to beat 4th best in the BIG10 Michigan.

And the LOL part...these teams are carving up the SEC with the "Big 12 spread" offense that doesn't work against "SEC Speed"...whatever that is. That's right - all four teams run "that offense" that causes coaches not to be SEC worthy during hiring.:ermm:

I'll grant that the top SEC team is often (one of) the best in the nation. But the ever-holy wisdom that SEC speed rules, defense wins championships, etc. is a pure and unadulterated joke in this SEC year. Heck, NEBRASKA hung 30 on USC Jr with their abysmal offense. But we all need to face it - the conference is freeloading off its best team's reputation.

Maybe now the sportswriters will publish honest rankings at the beginning of the 2013 season that don't overinflate the entire conference, which is the only reason all those teams are so high in the first place.

Bama should win. But Ole Miss, A&M, had better keep their end of the deal up, or the secret is out.

So the SEC is 3-3 with 3 to play and somehow LSU losing to an 11 win Clemson team, a garbage performance by Florida and Miss State losing a crap game means the SEC is down? Nevermind Georgia flying past Nebraska and SC coming back to beat Michigan with their best QB, WR and RB all on the bench at the end of the game.
