On one hand, I can understand Florida not being enthralled with a bowl game against the 21st ranked team in the country; that prospect just goes to show how royally fouled up the BCS and bowl committee selection process is when it comes to consistently creating uninteresting matchups. However, Florida was playing in a BCS bowl for crying out loud and, more specifically, the Sugar Bowl, where SEC champions typically play if they are not in the National Championship Game. Their uninspired play and "disinterest," as Chris Spielman consistently described their collective demeanor, fall squarely on Florida's coaching staff and players. We have been in that situation before in some of our Peach Bowl performances; USC was in the same mental state against Ga. Tech. Pit one team with a sense of entitlement against a highly inspired opponent and highly embarrasing results will often ensue.
