The Section 103 Postgame Report - Belmont

For such a basketball historian, I'm shocked that you are conveniently forgetting where this program was during the 1960s, when their conference was just a tad bit more competitive, I might add.
If you want to get to that, check out LaSalle's history, it dwarfs Davidson's and they didn't have to hire a slimeball like Lefty Dreisell to achieve it.

I am going to take such pleasure in watching Curry and Momma Camera Hog get blasted out of the Tournament in the first round this season. Then, it's back to Who Gives A Damn Land for Davidson. Forever.

Whatever pleasure you might take out of that, I assure you it would pale in comparison to the pleasure I took out of watching my 1,600-student alma mater take down 3 powerhouses in a row and put a deathly scare into the NBA-laden eventual national champions.

In fact, thanks to modern technology, I can replay that whenever I want. and enjoy it. forever.

For me as well. Until now, I didn't realize that your obstinance and bitterness were so great you'd discount the two programs who have more final 4 appearances and national championships than any other 2 programs the last 30 years.
They get to run as a tandem entry?

Wisconsin and Gonzaga are real powerhouses.

I'm glad we've established that your forte -- dare I say, your only weapon -- is belittling others. When in doubt, there's always an excuse -- well, "they hired a slimeball."

Your hatred of Davidson aside, the original point we were debating is that where I live is a better market for high quality college bball than Philly.

Instead of arguing the merits of those schools, and perhaps persuading me and a few others that I should give it a second thought, you chose to bash the two most accomplished programs the past 30 years.

If nothing else, it's a consistent approach.

How is not watching two teams I can watch anytime 1) and choosing to watch some teams that aren't on TV as much "discounting" them? Typical ACC 2) myopathy. That's what makes it so much fun when a 3) West Virginia makes Duke cower before them physically in the NCAA Tournament or Sucko T and the Clowns look up and see 40-15 in the biggest games of their lives.

1) Discounting them is you calling it "garbage basketball."

2) are you sure that's the word you wanted to use? Maybe tunnel vision? naval gazing? narrow-mindedness? arrogance?

3) Few people enjoyed watching West Va. take it to Duke like I did. I also enjoyed watching UNC win a national championship with my fellow Jesse Helms slurpers 3 years back.

There are a whole bunch of teams who have as many National Titles as UNC in the last 30 years. What has Duke done since losing to UCONN in the Final Four? There are plenty of teams who can look both of those teams eye to eye in accomplishment. Since you keep going further back, I'm moving the line back to 35 years, at which point Indiana and Kentucky have won as many National Championships as Duke.

so, in a word, you have hope.

and I have a nice, fresh Elite Eight experience.
Good for you. Then why don't you go suck UNC and Davidson off on a board with other Tar Heel state wonks? We certainly will be able to survive without your "casual" support for UT.

I also enjoyed watching UNC win a national championship with my fellow Jesse Helms slurpers 3 years back.
Not near as much as real basketball people enjoyed watching Bob Knight twice embarrass the pious, hawk nosed douch all of you Tar Heel fans bow before in the game's signature event.

Really? Please name them. Who are the "whole bunch of teams" who have as many National Titles as UNC in the last 30 years. Take your time. I know it's a long list.

Wow, none of these fine programs qualify?? Who am I forgetting? If I'm not mistaken, I just named every school that has multiple National Titles since 1979.

Hatvol says: "There are a whole bunch of teams who have as many National Titles as UNC in the last 30 years."

Really? Who are they?

HATVOL is AWOL. Probably off in some dank gym fiddling with his blackberry in one hand and his scout sheet in the other, LOL. Maybe someone else can answer this question for us until Hat comes back in?

Please name any and all teams (apparently, there's a bunch) that have as many national titles as UNC over the past 30 years?
