1. Tennessee did what they had to this week. A loss in either game would have been a disaster of massive proportions.
2. Good to see Tyler Smith perform at peak level. That's what this team has to have if it's to beat good teams in March.
3. Bruce was benching guys left and right for laziness early in the game. Tennessee flew around and hustled more in the second half than at any time this year. Funny how that works.
4. Vanderbilt is terrible. Stallings better hope his incoming class can provide some offense. Otherwise, they are going to be awful again next year.
5. Florida suffered a totally inexcusable loss. Georgia has no business being within 15 points of the Gators.
6. UCONN-Pitt will be all kinds of fun Monday night. Both teams methodically went about taking care of business today.
7. Syracuse saved their season. Had they blown the 16 point lead and lost, they would have been staring an NIT bid straight in the eye.
8. Good bounce back win for Kansas. Going into Manhattan and winning after blowing the game Monday night at Missouri indicates a toughness that will serve them well in the postseason.
9. Kudos to Arizona and Russ Pennell. Many people, myself included, buried them a month ago. Now, they are in great shape to make the NCAAs.
10. Looking forward to Ohio State-Wisconsin tonight. Bo Ryan's club is doing a good job of clawing themselves back into contention for an at large bid.

Thanks Hat.

Hey, who do think is in better shape right now, us or Kentucky?
Since both teams have similar schedules, you have to like Kentucky's position because their remaining game against Tennessee is in Lexington.

The sequence where Tatum ran down the Vandy player, blocked the dunk attempt, and then almost ran down the ball back near half court did seem out of character. Very nice to see, but still not something you've seen a lot of this year.

The next week is pretty important for us:
@ Ole Miss- This will be a tough road game. I see a 5 point game either way on this one.
@ Kentucky- This is a rough road game. I don't know how a feel about it.

Hopefully we can end up 2-0 or 1-1 this time next week.

Vandy is bad right now. They are slow, and do not shoot the ball very well, which is unlike most of your typical Vandy teams.

We seem to be making steps. Prince has found his role, and it is playing it well right now. When Tyler and Chism bring their games at the same time, we have a formidable inside out game. If our guards can come along some more we could be a tough out later in the year.

I agree. I've been one of JP's biggest critics, but I give him credit. He's been a much better player the last few weeks. As you mentioned, he's seemed to learn his role on this team.

If Hopson can get his 3 to go, and get more confidence, along with Maze getting more assists, then we will be a good team.

CBP needs to bench their asses of they don't hustle. The pass B-Will intercepted, then ran the floor and finished with a layup, is what we need. All-out effort.

We have the talent to win every game we have remaining on our schedule, even at UK. We also have the talent to pull another AU-esque debacle.

No more excuses of a young team. They have had time to grow up. It's put up or shut up time now.

This wasn't a key moment or anything, but Brian William's 3 point shot in the first half might have been the most horrid shot I have ever seen at this level.

I would take a split on this week.

If we win both of those games, then I will believe that this team has turned the corner and is on the way to reaching their potential. It's hard to base anything on blowing out two of the weaker teams in the SEC at home this week though.

That was more a product of how bad they sucked than how well we played...

I think you are right Hat.

How do you think we finish in the SEC?
LSU would have to completely collapse for anyone from the East to catch them. I am stunned Florida blew the schedule advantage they had over Tennessee, Kentucky, and South Carolina by losing to a putrid Georgia team. I think Kentucky has the inside track to win the East because of their remaining schedule. South Carolina actually has the best schedule, but I can't see them winning the division. My guess is that Tennessee finishes tied for 2nd in the East.

Hat, how good do you think Pitt is? Do you think they are a final 4 team? TIA..
They are really good. However, as I discussed on here a week or so ago, their lack of elite, NBA type players makes me question their ability to reach the Final Four.
