1. Good job by the Vine Middle School singers. The Anthem was the most cohesive effort of the evening.
2. It's a win. That beats the alternative.
3. Credit Martin for showing up and competing after Monday night. They could have just picked up a check and laid down.
4. Tobias Harris was the single difference in the game. He owned the last two minutes.
5. Kenny Hall is coming on slowly but surely. He's providing energy to an otherwise listless team.
6. If tonight is an example of the kind of leadership Brian Williams is going to provide the rest of the season, I'd root him to the bench. I'd let him sit and sulk all night, every night.
7. This team bears a scary resemblence to what Missouri put on the floor the last year and a half of Quin Snyder's tenure. The body language and focus is atrocious.
8. Baby on a gymnastics mat having a crawl race. Awesome halftime entertainment continues.
9. Getting outrebounded by Martin is a joke. The Tennessee bigs should be embarrassed.
10. The effort and performance better be infinitely better Friday afternoon. If not. UT is going to get run out of the building.

I agree completely with Hat. I would only add that our
team needs to learn/practice fundamental ball handling/passing skills - looked horrible! Getting outrebounded by a much smaller team is pathetic. Need to recruit some bigs...quickly!

Any W no matter how bad is better than a L...

I enjoyed seeing Kenny Hall get some minutes. That's the only positive I saw in that game. Oh, and Pearl benching Williams for (assuming here) his poor play in the first half.

UT is extremely close to developing into a very bad team.

Totally agree on all accounts. I'm still waiting for the offense to run through Tobias whenever he is in the game. I'm sick of watching Hopson do nothing but camp out at the 3 point line or turn the ball over in the lane.

Why aren't they pressing anymore? have the deepest team in BP's tenure and we play a slow half court type offense. Do you remember when Loften and J smith would press, drive and shoot. I don't ever remember the shot clock getting below 10 in BPs first 3 years.

Now they just seem to have no offensive rhythm. not fun to watch anymore

What does this even mean?

You replaced Bobby Maze, JP Prince, and Wayne Chism with Tobias Harris. The team is thin enough that 3 freshmen, 2 transfers, and 3 walk-ons are getting significant minutes. Last year's team was substantially deeper and played their best ball once they scrapped the press.

I haven't seen enough of the current lousy streak to diagnose what is wrong, but I guarantee that failing to trap for 94 feet and jacking up quick shots on offense isn't it.

Its almost depressing to watch a game now. I felt like going in the other room with my wife and watching what she was watching.

I don't know what the deal is. I think we need to pick the top 8 or 9 and go with em. Skylar didn't play tonight did he? As much as I would love to see him do well, he just hasn't performed. He doesn't deserve to be in there. I think the big guys should have dominated this game and nobody stepped up. We got outhustled and outrebounded by an inferior, smaller, less athletic team. Thats all about heart and we evidently have none.

They also beat a good VCU team. Two completely different teams at this point.

The book is out on us. play zone and once every 7-10 games you will get burnt by the 3 ball but if it's not that night. Zone Zone and some more Zone. which by the way was telling of how unprepared this team was when Tobias was interviewed in post game and said "They caught us off guard with a zone, We weren't expecting that" I am paraphrasing of course but it was close to that. I question how can you not expect a zone Mr. Pearl?

No surprise you blaming BP. It is expected.

I always believe in blaming the coach. they are the ones the coaches said I have free education and I am giving one to you. Also the obvious the coach gets paid and typically the players don't.
