I have not seen much from Hopson at all. I was hoping for huge things from him. If he thinks he is going to the NBA after this year he better be ready to go in the late first or early second.

More talent? Who? Other than Tyler and maybe Chism I'd trade any guy we have to get JuJuan back for another year.
I don't think there's any doubt that our freshmen / first year guys bring to the table more talent and having Cam back adds to the mix.

The lackluster shooting and lost defensive play have overshadowed that talent, but it's there.

As to Hopson, he could be an offensive monster. He has great touch, super quick and has big rise. He'll be an offensive hammer at some point. His defense will come, too, when he realizes it will have to in order for him to see the floor.

Very True.

The ability to hit FT's at more than 50%. The ability to finish a layup. The ability to control the game. He is much better than Ramar.
he just can't break down the D like Ramar nor can he play the physical D that Ramar could. Otherwise, I like him at the 1.

Free Throws - No Argument

I may be wrong, I do not follow the bball team as much as some of you guys but I always thought Ramar had the potential to be great. I don't see that in Maze from what I have watched this year.

I hope he proves me wrong.

That's what I loved about him. When teams zone us like they will all year we need Maze to be more aggressive to the basket. Does he have that ability?

Breaking down a d like Ramar could is just fine if you can either finish a layup or hit a FT. Otherwise. Not really worth much. If he tried to kick it out it was stolen half the time.

Why do you care about Ramar's ability to get to the basket? He couldn't score when he got it down there.

Because every good team is going to play zone against us and we are not good enough to shoot them out of it. At least we have not shown it. Therefore we need someone who can get to the basket routinely.
