Not often.

there's like a whole month and a half left till tourneys start. Is it just the funk takes longer to wear off than in other sports or like have something to do with they actually need time off to get over it rather than just time?

I was at the game. Anyone care to explain what this is all about?

ESPN kept going back to the guy (who was in the student section) all game. He wasn't that bad, but goodness, he wasn't good either. The fact that they kept going back to him when he had nothing of value to say was just annoying.

At one point he called a Mcbee three "automatic". I just with that were true.

The longer the season goes, the more teams are going to exploit UT's personnel limitations. There's no real remedy for that.

So he was just some random student they gave a mic to? It's like ESPN is going out of its way to embarrass our program. I've never seen that before.

I'd rather see Williams back then see Pearl on the floor ever again. I cringe every time he touches the ball.

I think he had some connection to ESPN, not really sure. He had a headset and an orange blazer.

It doesn't help that we have people in the stands heckling him. When he hit that reverse layup TBA exploded. But the moment he touched the ball in the second half some of our "fans" were already yelling at him.

He deserves to be heckled. Anyone that shoots 11% from the foul line, gets every shot he takes blocked, and travels every time he gets in the lane deserves to be heckled.

Plus anyone who's gone to school with him knows he's as big of a douchebag as Ryan Childress.

This is why it was so funny listening to people talk about getting rid of all four players after "the incident". With only six scholly players this team would be at best .500 in league play, which still could happen.

Pearl is not a gifted athlete, that is obvious. Watching him is frustrating, and I shudder whenever he gets the ball.

BUT, the vols have a depleted roster and a couple of players had foul problems early, and Pearl plays his heart out. I can understand criticism, but as a Vol fan, I feel no one should be overly critical, and ESPECIALLY, no Vol fan should be catcalling him from the stands. JMO

By the way, with the depleted roster we will probably be seeing just as much of Pearl has we have the past few games. Try to go easy on the guy, I know he sucks, be he is a Vol.

Pearl does seem like a douche, however, I know Ryan personally and I'll beg to differ about him being one. He may have been one when he first got on campus, but he was a pretty regular guy by the end of his career.

I agree Scotty's 4th foul was just a play where he wasn't thinking.

The bigger reason was he was not hustling. He was the only player under the basket when Vandy took an outside shot and he did not box out. The Vandy player who got the rebound was 15-20 feet from the basket when the shot was taken.

No point in hanging on the subject but from what I saw out of both of them, there's no way I'd ever stay in the same room with either unless I was forced to.

You may not like Stephen Pearl but if you care anything about this basketball team you won't heckle him when he's got the ball. What good comes out of that? It might make you feel better but that's about it.

Are you basing this opinion on personal interactions, or just what you see on T.V.? If either one of them was a douche to you personally, I understand where your coming from. If you are just basing this on what you heard on a message board, and what you watched at games, I am dubious.

Defense and heart went late. Chism was a no show on D and we can't live with that. Beal and Ogilvy needed our help to do what they did. Very poor effort at home in a rivalry.

Absolutely NO ONE was stepping out and guarding Beal late. Take it from a guy who has attended his fair share of Vandy games, he can nail them from deep. Just a lack of defense and poor decisions on offense all game long.

P.S.- J.P should have been ejected for his first technical from what i could see

1. The ball has to go Wayne Chism in the post much more often. UT settled for jumpers far too quickly and far too often.

I agree, even if I hate a guy for personal reason I'm only hurting myself if I interfere with their ability to perform for the team.

More than enough personal experiences, like when I lived above people he hung out with and repeatedly saw/heard him pull the "Do you know who I am" card on passers by off of the balcony. Now, I never saw him be mean to a person but that still doesn't make him a cool guy.

Yeah he's the president of TVC, the student run network, and I hear he's got a lot higher opinion of himself than he should.
