Anybody pay attention to this a few days ago?

The new is not sensational in that anybody uncovered anything; it's no secret many countries have been taking advantage of our outdated anchor baby provision; most countries have moved away from that practice. The news is that we actually found the spine to stand up and do something about it.

If the guy that died had a gun at least he would have had the opportunity to defend himself from the criminal. But as luck would have it as a law abiding citizen he was denied that right.

Well this might blow your mind but I stand by my statement. Unless he had a conviction limiting his access to firearms why should this person be actively prevented from protecting themselves by their own damn government?

I guess the cops put a sheet over the body when they got there. Problem solved.

In this case if both had a gun, it might have solved a few problems. I really don't know enough to say that, but maybe.

My understanding is that the gun was wrestled away from him and used on him instead. No gun, no one dead. Weird how that works.

There is no such reference to that in either article abuela.

Also again what’s your plan to get the criminals on board with not shooting the law abiding citizens? “I just called the cops so you guys have to put your guns away and stop now. That’s the rules.”

Absolutely stupid and no way in hell would any rational person agree to that as valid protection in place of the right to actively defending themselves.

For all the people who at one time or another argued that either (1) the shutdown was good, or (2) Trump "won" with the shutdown, please note that he mentioned it zero times in the SOTU.

Why is that?

I don’t recall seeing anyone say that he won the shutdown. Some saying wait and see.

He didn't mention that there would be a government shutdown in 10 days if nothing was agreed on? I could've swore he did.
