How do you think most tax returns are processed? They don't review every single tax return, they have computers pick out certain returns for human scrutiny based on a complicated set of rules for each line of the form. Gross income, deductions, taxes withheld, refund amount and a hundred other things go into a computer analysis of your return.

That's what we were thinking.

We have been discussing this in our house and have come to the conclusion with a lot of government workers who are starting to complain about not having money for food/bills etc...

I'm betting that even the lowest on the totem-pole likely gets well over minimum wage. So if you are a government employee on a government paycheck and are having trouble making ends meet after only 15/20 days not getting paid. Then that says a lot about you and the lifestyle you expect to live, rather than the lifestyle that you and/or your family are capable or should be living.

Like take the total number of illegal aliens crossing, divide it by the number actually detained and interviewed/questioned, and multiply by 6 for a very low-ball SWAG. But then mathematical and statistical accuracy never count for much in the lib touchy-feely world.
