lET ME guess. you play lacrosse? HOW DID I GUESS?The soccer team at our school would always play a tackle football game against the lacrosse team. The lax players were far more athletic and conditioned than the soccer players.
Soccer players, when the going gets tough, do a cartwheel on the ground and wince in pain.
Don't feel like actually going through all this thread but I am actually a soccer fan. For non-soccer fans, if you still can't get caught up in the World Cup you have no soul.
you can't base it all on one stupid play from one Frenchman.
and honestly, i don't enjoy international play (World Cup, Euro 2008, Olympics) as much league play (UEFA Cup, EPL)

my final attempt to get into soccer was the last World Cup. I watched every single match I possibly could without failing out of grad school. I was just beginning to waver and think maybe soccer isn't so bad during the final and then Zidane (sp?) headbutts a guy in the stomach and France loses. I enjoy seeing France lose, but that was the stupidest move I've ever seen in sports, regardless of what may or may not have been said about dear old mommy. Any wavering went out the window right there.
That said the athleticism and conditioning of soccer players is undeniable. They belong in the upper echelon of athletes just like football, basketball, baseball, cricket and tennis players.
Roger Clemens drilling Mike Piazza in the head was far more classless than Zidane.
Pedro Martinez clocking Don Zimmer was pretty shameful as well.
Albert Haynesworth stomping on the unprotected head of Andre Gurode.
