Because I don't like it, that's why. I do respect soccer players as athletes though.
the flow of the game is deliberate and not for everyone. and that is fine. but to claim that the best athletes don't play soccer is the single dumbest thing i have read on this site.

He has stated to me many times that the reason Americans dont like soccer is because the best athletes in the world play the "money" sports.
does your "friend" not realize that Chelsea's payroll is on par with the new York Yankees and Boston Red Sox?
There is a tremendous amount of money being tossed around in soccer, particularly by the European clubs.
Americans in general don't like soccer because 1) it's low scoring, 2) it seems too random, 3) they have a love affair with the NFL. Call it the "Nascar Syndrome", who wants to see 43 rednecks driving around in a circle for 500 miles? Nascar drivers aren't athletes and if they were true athletes, there'd be more black drivers because everyone knows blacks are better athletes. (a complete dramatization on my part intended to make a point, so no flaming me)
Some people get it, and some people don't. There's nothing wrong with either side, but the problem comes when non-fans believe themselves to be morally superior in some way and think that just because it's soccer, they can insult the fans because, hey, it's just soccer.
Beef because you say it sux does not make it so. What kind of logic is that. I like it and understand that some find it boring, thats OK. I dont care if people like it or not but I do.Actually that statement came from a HUGE soccer fan that I do business with from England. He has stated to me many times that the reason Americans dont like soccer is because the best athletes in the world play the "money" sports.
Besides if it is such a good game then why cant they do anything at all in the largest market in the world?
You may not have the courage to answer it but I will for you. It's because it is boring. I know you "enlightened" people who like it think the overwhelming majority of us are just to dumb to understand it. But the fact is most find it very, very boring. I even saw an interview with an AYSO guy who stated that the biggest "problem" they have is keeping their BEST athletes in the game once they reach high school.
Face it. Soccer sux. Just because a few people in the country like it doesnt change what it is. A crappy, boring game. The players are in good shape and can kick a ball. But it still sux and most Americans agree with me.
Never said racecar drivers were! But the proof is in the $ in the biggest $ market in the world. And I think I have a moral highground at all. I just (along with most Americans) think soccer sux. And it is fun to laugh at soccer fans. lol:
again, the biggest market in the world is already saturated with NFL, MLB, NBA and Nascar. If you're unable or unwilling to understand the economics of it that's your problem.
You can make excuses all you want. But if it is a product the consumer likes they will buy it. There is NO WAY the market is saturated. How do you explain MMA? There was already NFL, NBA, MLB and boxing. Yet MMA is huge now. Face it, you maybe a fan but you are and will remain in a HUGE minority because soccer sux.

MMA? are you kidding me? that is a niche "sport" that will fade once people realize that watching two grown men bash each other's head in is about is exciting as watching mold grow on a block of cheese.
