Over under within the next 50 years the south will try to rise again.

I am including Texas in this assumption.

I'm pro-secession. If a state wants to leave, have at it.

I think Hawaii would actually be first... those ungrateful bastards.

Why exactly is it a better option?

Secession? It's not inherently better than the status quo, but I'd venture to guess it would be for me for 2 reasons:

1) If the seceding state does so on a platform with which I agree, I'm off to start a new nation with like-minded people.
2) If the seceding state does so on a platform with which I disagree, I stay in a US with fewer political opponents.

What exactly is the plight of the south this time?

the entertainment value.

Also, because the federal government continues to grow and grab power from the states. I see it as an irreversible tide.

Been going on since the civil war, the federal govt by the constitution should have handed power back once the war was over.

The seccesionist movement in Hawaii is pretty clear. They don't want public transportation. They walk around barefoot all over the island

I dunno. In my mind it's more about a generally oppressive federal government than it is about a specific region being treated unfairly.

Which is reason enough to leave?

Viewed as fanatical if tried.

Would take something earth shattering.
