The south will "try" to rise again

Guys, step back from this argument a bit, and think about it. You're not considering all the consequences.

Think of how this would affect college football.

If the south seceded, the north would be ecstatic. The Big 10 could finally win a "national championship"

Yeah, and the seceding states could start their own league with an actual playoff. Southerners play the best football anyways.

Over under within the next 50 years the south will try to rise again.

I am including Texas in this assumption.

Not sure how much information is out there, but Texas had such a movement 12 - 15 years ago. Look for "Republic of Texas". They did have some interesting information on Texas being a conquered country rather than a state due to the readmission process not being completed after the war of northern aggression.

If I recall correctly Hawaii and Florida also had such groups then.

Tenn, Ga., Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Ala. based schools would never be able to compete in football again.

No black students allowed on major college campuses in those states after secession.

That's pretty much the whole point of this proposal, isn't it?

what about Florida and Louisiana? Are you saying they aren't part of the south?

Forgot about Louisiana. Yeah, they are definitely confederacy.

Florida barely sufficiently educated that the proposal would probably lose by a handful of votes. So we would stand alone in that respect.

Where do you get that from?

Oh, I don't know. The politics of every person who advocates it maybe?

I love the south, I've been in the south all of my life. But if they break off I'm going to Cali, cuz I can still date white women out there lol.

California? Speaking of places where race is an issue.

The south wouldn't regress. Society is generally progressive.

What evidence do you have that the south would regress? Since the CRA the south has progressed above and beyond what was enforced by the CRA.

Common sense, I live here, and I know what evil people like you are capable of if it weren't for those pesky 13th and 14th amendments.

yeah, Baker strikes me as an evil racist

I didn't say him, in particular. I don't know him.

But I know what this kind of talk is really all about. I think everyone does.

(My post was poorly worded in that I should have referred to the "evil THAT people ...." so as not to refer to him as evil. Not my intention.)
