The Strain

pretty good so far... I missed the hacker chick the most :pepper:

Great episode this week. The kid is becoming more annoying. The old man dosing with the worms is an interesting twist but somehow not surprising. I think the CDC woman probably saw some medical potential with what he was doing but it clearly has major side effects. Were they implying that the old man would have survived whether or not she was there to resuscitate him?

So according to this article (and I've read the same thing at a few other spots), they let go last year's kid for this kid because they believed this new kid had more range. Talk about a swing and a miss.

What I really wonder is did they figure out what a horrible choice they made while filming season 2, or did they actually think that he did a good job and didn't expect the backlash? I've yet to see anyone say he's doing a good job or even a decent one.

Either kill the character off, or recast him yet again for Season 3.

Wuhahaha!

Check out this article VSF. Scroll to the bottom and vote in the poll. The results are very telling.

I agree with your comment. I'd just assume have this kid killed than continue to watch the performance this kid is doing. The kid now is a major over actor.

Not sure why they brought back the former sidekick of the old man if he was just going to die in such an uneventful way.

It was probably a scheduling problem. The actor, Roger Cross, got a larger role in the SyFy show Dark Matter. He also had to film the last season of Continuum. The way it played out appeared as though the show runners intended on him being there and found out too late that he wouldn't be available to finish the Fitzwilliam character.

I'm glad this has already been renewed for Season 3, but I'm wondering if it's going to make it past that. The ratings this season have dropped rather significantly from Season 1. Maybe the ratings are good for FX, but I wonder at what point production costs become too big. It also probably doesn't help that Fear the Walking Dead is now on the same night, though not directly going head to head with it.

I think they needed to shake things up a bit. Maybe that's why last week's episode was a little edgy. Killing off a couple of characters would help too
