He still could not legally buy one from a dealer, regardless of whether or not he bought it from a dealer at a gun show or not. The term "gun show loophole" is a huge misnomer. The practice in question does not take place only at gun shows, and to call it a "loophole" is questionable.

It is a "loophole" in the same way that using things like exemptions and loss carry-forwards are "tax loopholes." Firmly in quotes.

They are both legal ways around something that the left thinks you should have to do. What they really mean when they say "tax loopholes" is that they want the tax code changed so that there are no exemptions, no loss carry-forwards, etc. By "gun show loophole," what they really mean is that they want a new law requiring a private, non-commercial seller to run a background check on the buyer. The argument sounds more convincing by describing the current system as having "loopholes" in it that can be fixed, rather than having to describe their position as a proposed new law.

Members of a pro-abortion group marched onto the court topless at a WNBA game Tuesday in Brooklyn to protest the alleged leaked Supreme Court opinion on Roe v. Wade.


Women associated with the group Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights marched through the stands at the game and held signs that read, “Overturn Roe? Hell no!” according to photos from the incident. Other signs read, “Abortion on demand and without apology.”

Let's give this the Jan 6 treatment.

Kavanaugh labeled a serial rapist by D Senators, Schumer publicly threatens Kavanaugh, someone leaks upcoming ruling, left pundits and leaders exaggerate consequences of possible ruling, WH endorses protestors at homes of SCOTUS members, person attempts to assassinate Kavanaugh and cites motivation of consequences of possible ruling. All in the context of a party that has openly talked about extreme means to change the make up of the courts. Surely assassinating a SCOTUS member based on a possible ruling and the potential to reshape the court is a THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!

Time for prime time hearings.

It is not a loophole. It is illegal for a licensed retailer to sell a firearm without a BGC and it's illegal for a private seller to sell for the purpose of commerce so there is no such thing a a "gun show loophole" In your examples everything is legal.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said the two Trump-appointed conservative Supreme Court justices “will pay the price” for “awful decisions” in abortion rights cases.
