The Supreme Court of the United States Thread

In reality, this could very well turn out to be a big nothing burger. I'll bet the vast majority, if not all, states will continue to keep abortion legal anyway. I believe there are already "trigger laws" set by some states to go in effect as soon as R VS W was overturned.
Exactly. It will be nothing more than something liberals use to throw another tantrum.

This decision wasn't designed to end abortion in America. It was designed to correctly rule that there is no constitutional right to an abortion, and it properly returns that decision to the states.
Correct, but I don't think Pepe was arguing otherwise.

Yes I know that. But people are excited about this decision because it will lead to abortion bans in some states. Ultimately though it will probably do little to reduce the number of abortions.
I like this decision for states rights.
I’m indifferent on abortion.
I personally am opposed too it but I’m also not my brothers keeper. If it’s deemed illegal in your state and it’s a big problem then move somewhere else.

Most women inclined to get an abortion will just travel to a pro-abortion state to get it done. Banning abortion is about as practical as banning guns.

I disagree with Thomas's reasoning. And as explicitly called out in the opinion, so do the other members of the majority.
I’d have to go back and look at the decision, but this sounds a lot like what I read other places after his dissent in June Medical, which said Roe should be overruled.

There is too much money being raised for conservative groups to just stop here. Obergefell will be the next target, I imagine.
