The Supreme Court of the United States Thread

Those hypothetical are FAR different than this. No one just happened across the guy silently praying. He promoted it in a public event.
Yeah, I said they were different in the post. But the relevant facts of this case fall between the relevant facts in the hypos.

From a musician that had an album called Dookie....and American Idiot

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong says he's renouncing his US citizenship: 'F--- America'

"F--- America, I’m f---ing renouncing my citizenship," Armstrong said. "I’m f---ing coming here." "There’s just too much f---ing stupid in the world to go back to that miserable f---ing excuse for a country," Armstrong added.
An admitted somewhat guilty pleasure is that I kind of like Greenday. That being said, they are the most untalented band ever. If you have ever listened to them have you noticed that there are zero guitar solos? I just find that interesting.

Oh.. and I'd love to see what Joey is saying when he gets his first tax bill from the Queen. LOL

How self absorbed do you have to be to honestly believe anyone actually cares if you stay or leave the country, other than your circle? I get his “celebrity” but cmon!

Not quite the same, but I enjoy watching golf. Many great players are leaving the PGA. Don’t care! I got bills, and kids, and crap that has to be done. Like most other people in the world.

There aren't many great players leaving the PGA tour. DJ, Koepka and DeChambeau are it as far as "great" players, although Bryson has been mired in a two year slump through a combination of injuries and poor play. The guy's wedge game is terrible

GreenDay plays catchy tunes

That’s fair. Maybe many was an exaggeration. Still some names though. Reed won the Masters. I know Lefty is old but I’ve been watching him for a long time.

Point is still the same. No reason to mourn lol

The LIV tour is a joke. Everybody gets a trophy. Everybody gets a paycheck. Typical middle Eastern buy everything mentality.

Agree 100 percent.

No one would object to him praying silently. The issue is making a display of it in a setting where young people might feel compelled to join in. It seems..... "look-at-me" ish. I tend to find people who wear their religion so prominently to generally suck as people.
This kind of stuff has always seemed suspect to me. There's a fine line between setting an example and putting on a show. Football coaches might want to read the book of Matthew.

“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

I think it depends on the person and the situation. Jesus was saying to not do it for show. But he wasn’t saying don’t ever publicly pray with people if you’re being sincere. I’ve seen coaches that I think were doing it for show, and then I’ve seen some that weren’t.

Not a Green Day fan but there are plenty of great rock bands and guitarists who don't have solos.

Truthfully, everyone that has left the PGA tour for the LIV tour so far are current-day B-level players at best. DJ and Koepka have been better than that over the last 5-8 years, but they haven't been a real threat to win for about 2 or more years now.

Go look at the 2021 final FedEx Cup standings
Bryson 7
DJ 8
Brooks 30 in an injury year

Who are the current “A” players? Nobody is head and shoulders above anyone else right now.
