Jamie Raskin is one of the true stars of our Congress. He was a law professor for 25 years before getting into politics. He's one of the smartest
and most articulate people in Congress, and we see him frequently correcting stupid and/or factually erroneous statements made by Republicans. Here he is questioned about the genuinely corrupt state of our Supreme Court and how it could--and must be--reformed. And if you don't think it's corrupt, well, you're dumb and dishonest.

We've got two Supreme Court justices who unquestionably should have recused themselves from Jan.6 and insurrection cases, particularly the case involving presidential immunity, because they obviously have serious conflicts of interests and have clearly shown that they are not impartial arbiters of law, and yet they've brazenly refused to do so. We've got a justice, Clarence Thomas, who's had a For Sale sign on his back for decades--a man happy to accept money and trips and million-dollar RVs from conservative billionaires with an interest in SCOTUS cases---and then he has the audacity to pretend that's not done anything wrong. He was heard recently whining because he thinks he's a victim of unfair criticism for his obvious corruption. He and Alito, to name two, don't give a ****. Alito has been aggressively partisan for years. We have three new conservatives on the court who all transparently lied to Congress about their views on Roe V. Wade during their confirmation hearings. We have no accountability on the Supreme Court for unethical behavior--it's the only federal court that does not have a code of ethics--and the court is in a very bad state, partly because Roberts is such a disgracefully weak Chief Justice. In any case, this is worth a read.

I'd like to see Raskin run for president--he'd be great.

How do you know that they didn't fly it upside down because they were upset about the actions of the rioters and Jan 6. I know that is a stretch based on his political history, but we just don't have enough to even know the motivations.

I feel like Sotomayer has been less radical on the Supreme Court. She also writes coherent opinions.

The worse judge in my lifetime was Steven's. One of his opinions literally read "I know better and I am smarter" as reasoning once you got through his legalese. He could not even explain his positioning.

Because that's not what he said. He gave some lame explanation blaming his wife and the neighbors--which was know was bull$hit because he's been caught flying another right-wing flag at his beach house. Maybe he'll try to blame that on his dog.....He and Thomas are disgraceful--and have been for a long time.

My point is you have no evidence to support why the flag was upside down other than speculation. As they say in a Few Good Man, "It is not what you know, but what you can prove."

I'm not sure there is no evidence but let's assume that is correct. If Alito wants to make a statement, then let him make his statement. All the better.

Let the reputation chips fall inline with his indiscretions.
