The Surprise of NSD!!! I'm Telling you!!!

:good!:

Rex knows his stuff.

When he posts rumors, he lets you know that is all it is at the time.

I posted a PREDICTION, AND I REPEAT, PREDICTION. My god you all are killing me. Do you really think that I heard from a source that we were going to have a top 5 class? No, it's my opinion so therefor I made a PREDICTION. Just because I don't post here all the time(which according to you makes me a moron with no credibility) does not mean that I cannot make a PREDICTION of our class. Doesn't mean it's gonna happen just think it's a real good possibility. That's my OPINION.

Was I talking to you. I did not quote you. You are getting upset about nothing. Get over it.

A Circumstantial ad Hominem is a fallacy in which one attempts to attack a claim by asserting that the person making the claim is making it simply out of self interest. In some cases, this fallacy involves substituting an attack on a person's circumstances (such as the person's religion, political affiliation, ethnic background, etc.). The fallacy has the following forms:
  1. Person A makes claim X.
  2. Person B asserts that A makes claim X because it is in A's interest to claim X.
  3. Therefore claim X is false.
  1. Person A makes claim X.
  2. Person B makes an attack on A's circumstances.
  3. Therefore X is false.
A Circumstantial ad Hominem is a fallacy because a person's interests and circumstances have no bearing on the truth or falsity of the claim being made. While a person's interests will provide them with motives to support certain claims, the claims stand or fall on their own. It is also the case that a person's circumstances (religion, political affiliation, etc.) do not affect the truth or falsity of the claim. This is made quite clear by the following example: "Bill claims that 1+1=2. But he is a Republican, so his claim is false." There are times when it is prudent to suspicious of a person's claims, such as when it is evident that the claims are being biased by the person's interests. For example, if a tobacco company representative claims that tobacco does not cause cancer, it would be prudent to not simply accept the claim. This is because the person has a motivation to make the claim, whether it is true or not. However, the mere fact that the person has a motivation to make the claim does not make it false. For example, suppose a parent tells her son that sticking a fork in a light socket would be dangerous. Simply because she has a motivation to say this obviously does not make her claim false.

Lynch mob meltdown in 3.....2......

You had me at "Hominem"....lol.

If you can come up with another intellectual gem that i could use: "Show Me The Money", I would never quote Jerry McGuire again.

I agree with you completely TenaciousD. There are to many "stump the Schwab" wana be's on here. That is why I only read, usually.

One of my favorite quotes is,"To be a teacher, you must first decide to always be a student."

Again and for the last time. The number of posts you have as no impact on the quality of your information or on you as a person, it does however have meaning relative to outlandish predictions for NSD. Its easier to make crazy claims and say, "I guarantee it!!!!!!!!!!" if you have no long term commitment to this forum. I doubt you will find Lex, Vader, Hat, etc making ridiculous predictions and "guaranteeing" them because they will be back on here after NSD to hear the critique from everyone.

An OPINION is not a GUARANTEE! ARE YOU NOT LISTENING TO ME? Yes, I will be on here after NSD my friend and you can make fun of me all you want if I'm wrong so you can feel better about yourself. Maybe one day we will all be as wise as you. Tool off dude.:shaking2:

You know, he has been gracious in trying to give you an explanation and you act like an A$$. Most of us have been called out for something we have said here at one time or another. Most do not go on for 8 pages whining about it. Get over yourself.

Also, even if he were not a Preacher, your response would be inappropriate. I suspect your Mom taught you better.

I posted a thread not to long ago saying that we would be the surprise of NSD and was told by most not to be to optimistic. Now what? I'm telling you now and you heard it here first. This class will be a top five after Feb. 4th. Call me crazy but wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised if we jump into the top three. I can see Brown, Carroll, Myles, Jackson, Montgomery, Charles, and possibly even Richardson choosing us. Not to mention a few other great prospects. Just wait and see my friends. GO VOLS!!!

:ermm:

Just because I don't tool off on the computer all day make my opinion unworthy? Sorry but I do have a life.

First of all, I don't tool off on the computer all day. Second, I work on the computer for a living. And, make very good money doing it. Last, I have a very good life. I am sure a lot better than yours. So, don't make assumptions, donkey boy!!!!!!!

By the way, you need some education. Your grammar is terrible! Feel free to post again when you get your drivers license!

I don't think Utah has ever finished in the top 10 or maybe even in the top 25. Of course I could be way off. It's more important what you do with the talent you have.

"I am sure a lot better than yours." ??

Isn't that an assumption on your part?

VolDC, what is the story behind your avatar?

It is Gen. George Patton "Pissing in the Rhine". I think it represents everything that was once great about this country. I know that sounds ridiculous, but the greatest generation in this country's history responded to similar challenges that we have today, differently than we are now. Now we have people in this country that whine about what they don't have and what the government has to do for them. I believe in self sufficiency, and great leadership. None of which we have now. Can you imagine trying to win WWII with today's media. I just think the country could be in a better place if we didn't worry about opinion polls in Europe, and had better leadership in government and business.

I guess this attitude is why I am so excited about Kiffin. From what I have seen, he has these kind of abilities in leadership. He was smart enough to realize that he isn't going to be the highest paid, because he is unproven. So comparably, he took the extra 3 million (Saban) and hired a staff that can make this university look like it once did when Fulmer really cared. That is not a knock on Fulmer, I love the man. I just think he had become complacent. ( i.e. there is a good rumor floating a round that he could have hired the guy from the lions instead of clawson last year, but wouldn't allow him to bring in 2 or 3 other coaches. ) I now see a man leading this football team that will go after the best coach and recruit. He will, or has, PISSED OFF every coach and fan in the SEC, and I love it. I like that Steve Spurier felt the need to take a shot at him the day after he was hired. I love that Kiffin fired right back. I love it when Sabban tells a recruit he can't take an official visit here, or he might pull their scholarship. I like that when he was introduced as our football coach, he said he wanted to sing "Rocky Top" in Gainesville all night celebrating a victory. The old guard in the SEC are scared. Why else would they react like they have?

Everyone knows how hard it has been the last eight or nine years to watch us play Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and LSU. if you are like me, I would get really excited early in the year, and be bummed out by the time the Alabama game rolled around. That attitude has completely changed with me. I am not concerned with how the next few years will be. We don't even have to win the SEC east in my mind. We just have to be competitive in every game, and in recruiting. In two months this "new guy" has done one hell of a job leading this program. look at the recruits that have come in this last month for visits. look at the coaching staff we now have. Everything about this man screams leadership. How could you not get excited watching his press conference? Then a month later Monte, and Orgeron's press conference just added to it. This is the first year I have ever followed recruiting, and it is because these guys have me that excited about it.

I guess at 30 years of age, i know enough history to recognize a great leader when i see one. I was not a Kiffin supporter in the beginning. I actually wanted to see Kelly here. Kiffin's words have been followed up by his actions to this point. That is a sign of great leadership. I only hope and pray that he and even Hamilton get the praise they deserve when this goes right. Lord knows they will be the ones to get the blame if it doesn't. The only thing left to do is repair the damage, and get results on the field. This coaching staff brings the work ethic "NO EXCUSES!", you work hard, you play, you succeed. For those of us that succeed in life, that is the rule we live by.

My last bit is for those other fans, at other schools. Your coaches realize that the beast of the east has been awoken. Your coaches are scared. Your four and five star recruits are looking at us with renewed interest after only two months of recruiting by our current staff. We may not sign them this year, but what do you think will happen when we have a full year to recruit? If i was a bama, gator, bulldog, or tiger, i would literally s*** my pants right now, and hope i win as many as i can in the next two years. The culture has changed in KNOXVILLE TENNESSEE!

Sorry to go on such a long rant, but I have not been this excited since standing on the field at the florida game, and watching them carry the goal post out. So to answer your question, i feel like Kiffin has Patton's mentality. He is pissing on everyone's parade in the SEC. Great job COACH!:clapping:

VolDC great post. Like you, I have never followed recruiting until this year. Isn't this what he was hired to do, change the 'status quo', provide new direction, regenerate excitement in the program. I hope he keeps it up.

Great post & agree with everything you just said!

I think he has done a great job of that so far. I am still skeptical. There is a whole lot more to come, but i could not have wished for a better start than this. I only caution our fans to be patient. There is a mountain of rebuilding to do, but it seems we have the right guys to do it.
