The Tiger Woods saga

I've commented on this earlier, and at this juncture, Im willing to bet we hear or read some form of a half a$$ apology from ole' Jes. Regardless of how sincere it is.

if you use your clean cut upstanding reputation to sell your products (which tiger most definetely does) you can't complain when people pay attention when you screw up.
If I'm not mistaken though these companies of whom you speak of that Tiger sells for, is standing by their man with 100% support.
My point being, celebrity or not it's no ones business PERIOD of whom you sleep with.

they have contracts and my guess is tiger cheating on his wife doesn't void them. in other words, what they are doing is good for business.

I understand what you're saying droski, it just gets under my skin when people don't mind their own business and want to get into other people's. I personally don't give a damn who he sleeps with, I just wish the media would lay off of him.

Mo money, mo problems.

We can argue all day about whether or not it "should" be a public issue, but that really doesn't matter.

If you're a celebrity, you're under the microscope. Right or wrong, that's just the way it is. If Tiger didn't want this kind of circus around himself and his family, he shouldn't have been juggling a half dozen mistresses. This comes with the territory.

It is much too early in the process for these companies to bail on Tiger. However, I seriously doubt they will be creating any new adds anytime soon or even spending money on the networks to show existing adds. "Standing by him" does not equal "support".... it's more equivalent to "sit and wait".

if this was ron artest i don't think it would be a big story. this is a guy who puts himself above all others. that is why it is a story. if he didn't manage his legacy so much and pretend to be mr perfect with everything, he wouldn't be coming down so hard.

Neither he nor you seem to care when the media was reporting all those positive stories, why would they ignore the negative.

I have never argued whether this was right or wrong, just stated that as a celebrity this is what you can expect when a negative story surfaces. Maybe they shouldn't report it, but then again maybe he shouldn't have gotten all the positive press he did over the years either. It just comes with the territory and you have to expect it.

Agreed...but as we all know everyone has a skeleton or two in their closet no matter how goodie goodie they try to come across as being.

True, but as close to zero as possible of them are in his position or have cultivated the image he has portrayed over the years either.

i can't believe nobody taught him the two cell phone trick. that's pretty common knowledge.

I have seen all the commercials, photo adds and the like. I have never seen or heard of him saying I'm a fine non-adulterer human being with no flaws. The adds and his image focus along the lines of I'm the greatest golfer of this or possibly any generation. Come get some or have some of what I like or use. I honestly have not seen a commercial with him sporting the values of fine upstanding human being. Now have we taken those things for granted...... Some may argue he might not have gotten that far or reached those highs with out it being implied. I think assumed should be the word of the day on this area. His popularity is because of his feats on the links not what has been assumed as far as his character being stellar.

Truth.

Since it's already public, why would you renegoiate..
I can definetly see the counseling as a means to work it out, but how does throwing money at it help.

His sponsors which is the meat of his earnings have already said they are staying with him...

Agree with the renegotiate. Why? I understand what he is thinking, I assume. But if she stayed for the money. It would always be in the back of my mind or worse always there. If he was going to renegotiate for anything it should be for X amount of affairs a year.

Can you imagine what those counseling sessions are like. They may be more torturous than the media scrutiny.

Yeah, but we didn't become the first billion dollar athlete off a false image either. If he wanted the money, which he obviously did, then he can take the heat when he was found out to be the sleaze ball that he is.

This thing just keeps getting weirder. He was snoring while laying in the street on the passenger side of the car. Elin was begging for help. The car took a crazy route, careening off of retaining walls and hedges before hitting the fire hydrant and tree. Sleeping pills? Would that be why the police wanted medical records?
