honestly, i couldn't stand the guy when i met him several years ago. after all this came out i dislike him even more. but my problem lies in the fact that a woman could stay with this guy after what he has done to her and her family. regardless of money, how can she stay with this guy? does she have any self respect for herself much less her kids?

I was living in Leadville, CO for several years going to school and working as a mountain guide for companies such as Outward Bound. I was traveling all over the west on trips and this winter I was just working for a local ski mountain enjoying the fact I got paid to be on skis. The mountain got a call that came from Tiger that he was down in Vail and he was getting too much attention and he wanted to come up and catch a snow cat and do some backcountry skiing away from the masses of kiss arses. The mountain agreed to accommodate his needs. Here is where I come into the picture.

In order to run backcountry routes first off there would need to be some avalanche testing down on the particular slope. So I and another guy went out and found a good slope. I dug an avy pit and did all testing to ensure that there would be no danger to anyone wishing to ski that particual slope. Then Tiger arrives and I am back to greet him and introduce myself and find out everything he needed to get going.

Now, the first thing that set me off was the fact that he told his wife to stay in that car the entire time. Now it is right around 15 degrees in the sun and she is going to sit in the car when we have a roaring fire away from other people in our lodge. She is also pregnant with their first child. I did not get to speak with her so maybe she wanted to sit in the car with the heater on, but I got the feeling it was in a more authoritative tone from Tiger. I certainly made it clear that we could accommodate her in a building rather than the car, but he just wanted to ski and I fell on deaf ears.

We boarded the cat and rode to the slope we are going to ski and get all geared up to go down. There was not much conversation between us and it was just me and the other guy that dug the pit with me and it was a long ride. Kind of a smug arrogance from him. I treated him as anyone else I would do this for. I am under the impression he is an average skier, but had no clue as to his ability until we started down. This slope was no different than an average slope that an average skier could manage. Conditions were good with a couple of inches of powder above the first layer. Turns out to be a lot more of a difficult run than we expected.

As we started down I would take lead and basically show Tiger where to point his skis making sure he stayed within our safe zones. My buddy would be behind him making sure he made it down and just monitoring conditions as we went. I can tell right away that he was having some difficulties. He fell several times right off and I tried to help him out and he just goes off. I had no idea at the time that this guy is not what he is on tv. Now I can cuss like a sailor, but he took it to a whole new level. When I guide I keep everything strictly professional and I tried to calm him down as he sputtered along. This same routine went on until he finally made it down and my job was done.

Usual tradition is we go back to the lodge and drinks are on the house, etc. Most importantly we get paid (aka tipped for our extensive services). We make it back to the main area and he straight up dips out on tipping or even paying for his trip. Now, I have spent most of my day babysitting him and his needs and he took off without so much as a thank you. He snubbed me.

I am angry at him for how he treated his pregnant wife and his lack of being gratious for a guide changing plans to accommadate his desires. Simply put he was an ungrateful prick. I don't care if he is a great golfer, but am even more unimpressed with his lack of compassion as a human being. I am glad he is being raked over the coals. Much deserved for a sorry piece of garbage.

stories about getting snubbed by celebs always make me laugh. dude could be having a bad day and because you took it personally, he's a terrible person.

i've been guilty of it too, but i try not to care about one offs with famous people.

you know your right to an extent. he might have been having a bad day. we all have those, but when it comes to keeping the electricity on at my house i have a right to take it a little personal. but, he proved to the entire world that he is a terrible person. i also don't like to see women, especially women who are pregnant being treated negatively. that rubs me the wrong way. i just wanted to point out that being a celebrity does not make you special and above paying for services or even being a compassionate human being to the mother of your children.
