The Tiger Woods saga

It wasnt that bad. I mean he owned it. Although he didnt take questions, he made enough statements that identify with somenone who has recognized that he's fallen far from grace.

Im sure he's ashamed he got caught, but there was some "remorse" for his family in that speech.

I wish him the best and sure would like to see him on the golf course sooner than later.

His porn star mistress wants a public apology because she didn't know he was seeing anyone else other than his wife, and she gave up her job for him? You've got to be kidding me! I'm a female myself and that is just ridiculous. Doesn't she realize thats what happens when you mess with a married man? And then her lawyer is Gloria Allred...go figure.

all of his past mistresses need to recognize a few simple things:

1. He's not going to openly apologize to them
2. If they have not received any $ from him as of yet, that check aint in the mail.
3. They all damn well knew what they were getting into and should take a good long look at themselves too.
4. Their claim to fame will now be linked to a man who would love nothing more if they fell off the planet.

The only thing he showed was he is not the most polished speaker outside of talking about golf. It was uncomfortable and probably embarrassing to have to do.
Only time will tell if he was genuinely sorry or intends to change. Nothing he said today would have pleased everybody

I was impressed, however, that he owned up to he thought different rules applied to him simply because he is Tiger Woods. And that he said when he returns he will respect the game more. Those are 2 huge steps.

it wouldn't surprise me if we don't see him back to playing for sometime. then again, i wouldn't be shocked to see him at the masters either. i hope its sooner rather than later.

i wonder is he is truly sorry or just sorry he got caught. time will tell.

It also impressed me that he apparently wasn't apologizing right now just because he wants to play in the Master's. He stated that he wasn't sure when he would return to golf, whether it would be this year or not.

I couldn't help but chuckle at the whole "Bhuddist" thing..... Yeah...he's a Bhuddist alright. That "Bhuddi" is what got him in trouble to begin with!

he's doesn't owe anything to anybody but his wife. anybody who says otherwise or expected more that what they got today needs a reality check.

Why would anybody have expected more than that? Woods's public persona has always been as generic and blandly corporate as possible. There was no way he was going to do anything today other than to stand there and read off a boilerplate PR-crafted statement. Announcing a renewed faith in Buddhism was the only interesting thing he said.

What I didn't expect was for him to look so wooden and pale and mechanical. He looked like a prisoner of war reading off a list of all the "crimes" he's confessing to.

fine with me as long as he stops whoring out to every advertiser in the country. you can't use your rep as a "good person" to get 100 mil a year in endorcements on one hand and then on the other hand pull the "this is a private matter" card.

I'm not buying what he's selling. I thought his words were contrived and insincere. I think he still feels that he is above the "rules" and was just doing the minimum he felt was necessary. His body language did not fit his words. The only true emotion I saw was his hatred for the media and those that question him.

Like so many have said, he'll prove it over time, not today

I agree with you. Also, I think this is "Step #9" of his rehab. The only reason he did this right now is because it is part of his recovery/rehab. Now he's headed back to rehab and on to "Step #10".

wait, so nobody should have expected more than they got, but you didn't expect him to act like a generic and blandly corporate personality?

i doubt you have to worry about that.

Nobody should have expected more content than that. What he said was basically exactly as expected. What I didn't expect was how he looked -- both his physical appearance and his dour demeanor. He looked like somebody who was just freed from a concentration camp.

As far as I'm concerned his wife and family are the only people who really needed an apology for all of this. I could care less where he sticks his peter. I just want to see him on the golf course again.

Yes. Stop with the apology tour for the press. Rehabbing your money making ability is going to take enormous time. Take it, play golf, make putts and tell the busy bodies to kiss your Caublasian Buddhist ass.
