I considered the fact that it was the mentally tough Tiger Woods but it didn't change my opinion any.

If he can survive the first 2 rounds and make the cut then he may be able to settle down, relax and card some solid scores to make a run on Sun but he may very well shoot himself out of it on Thurs and Fri.

Tiger is going to be there like last year. Not winning but lurking around. IMO.

Sidenote---My first year with the Masters in HD.

Honestly, I don't care what Tiger shoots, whether it be -10 or +30, I was enjoying the Masters and the Tour long before Tiger was teeing it up there and I will enjoy this Masters regardless of what Tiger does.

Exactly.

That's the problem I have with the sports media when it comes to golf. We all know Tiger's talents, but there were people who enjoyed golf before he came on the scene. They seem to forget that.

I never said that he got all his sponsorship from the guys at Lipscomb. You jumped to that conclusion. Of course his dad helped him, but his dad was a local club pro from a small town. made very little money back in the 80's at a small club like that. Tell me, Mr. Cost accountant, how the heck he could afford to send KP out on tour without financial help. The entry fees alone were more than he made in a year.
It is 100% true that he was given financial suport by Lipscomb board members AFTER he got his card.

I only brought it up because I knew that Ride was a church of Christ member and it is a great story of God's provision and the vessel of that provision being paid back 1,000 times what was given.

Wrong. His Dad was an executive with American General in downtown Nashville. I met him when I was doing an internship there my senior year in college.

Western was already in the Sun Belt when I played at Middle. I met Kenny when I was being recruited by Western, plus he was a roomate of a guy from Tullahhoma who also played golf at Western.

T-town, it appears you pop off on many subjects for which you have no clue.

It would surprise me more if Tiger misses the cut than it would if he wins the tournament. Tiger is easily the toughest mentally on tour. He won't be a mental mess. How can anyone make such a prediction when they have NEVER witnessed such behavior. I don't necessarily think he will win, but it is highly likely he will contend.

I admit a brain fart on KP's dad being a club pro. Hey, it happens at my age.

The OVC comment: WKU was OVC when KP played and Middle was OVC when you played.....sorry you missed that connection.

I do not see Tiger on the leader board Sunday. I do see him making the cut.

Tiger thought it was. Perspective speaking that is like having $500 on a Friday and giving away $10 to get something you really really want. You know that your still going to be paid again next Friday so....... splurge a little.
