The Tiger Woods saga

you're both wrong... A DLU alum gave him $5k to cover expenses for Q-school on his third try. the agreement was that if he made it, he'd give 5% of his winnings to DLU.

I wasn't wrong. I was right. I said Lipscomb didn't give him money. I said his father sponsored him. Not wrong. His father supported his first two attempts at Q-school and then when he got out on tour, his father helped him until he could make a living. I never said other individuals didn't help. The $5,000 was a drop in the bucket compared to what his father had shelled out from college graduation until financial independence. It was pure ignorance to state DLU had sponsored him. I am fairly certain the board there wouldn't sponsor someone like that without being an alumni.

I know him and his father personally. I don't care if you went to Lipscomb, you don't know what you are talking about. Kenny is an alumni of Western KY. He gives Lipscomb money for the reasons I stated. Of course, I am not sure of how you define "sponsor". I define it as providing the funds to cover expenses and that is exactly what Kenny's father did for him. Lipscomb might have provided some type of support, but it wasn't monetary.

Just because you played at another OVC school, you think you know the personal finances of all other OVC players.

I never said that he got all his sponsorship from the guys at Lipscomb. You jumped to that conclusion. Of course his dad helped him, but his dad was a local club pro from a small town. made very little money back in the 80's at a small club like that. Tell me, Mr. Cost accountant, how the heck he could afford to send KP out on tour without financial help. The entry fees alone were more than he made in a year.
It is 100% true that he was given financial suport by Lipscomb board members AFTER he got his card.
You just can not stand not being the smartest guy on the internet, can you.

I only brought it up because I knew that Ride was a church of Christ member and it is a great story of God's provision and the vessel of that provision being paid back 1,000 times what was given.

Just one more wrong statement added to the list.

Tiger - " I kept screwing all these women because I quit meditating and got away from my Buddhism"

What a load of BS, he should just keep his mouth shut and go out and play golf, let the media find their dirt stories somewhere else.

Sorry for the diversion of the thread. Back to Tiger.

He played a practice round at Augusta this morning. How do you guys think he will do in the Masters?

Luckily for him Augusta will weed out most of the trash.

I don't know. If the big horses are killing it, they can run away, but if they aren't it's a wedge guy's paradise if his putter is on.

All that said, I like Ernie with his putter back I the game.

I was referring to the crowds.

But I agree. Ernie with a hot putter will be dangerous.

Ah. Yes, they police well.

Ernie is hitting and putting it well.

Plus Ernie has the nerves to be able to handle a Sunday at Augusta... When the putter is rolling.

When not, he's almost a mirror image of Vijay. Those putting strokes get choppy and short as hell.

It will be interesting to see how he handles things on Thursday. I can't imagine what it would be like to play your first "live" round of the year at a place like that. He could hit it well and still shoot 77.
